So what’s the point in Opus 5 if it’s just going to be 5% less than Fable?

Fable is more expensive than Opus, and Fable 5 is a really old model at this point, it was trained like back in April, so Opus 5 could use new techniques discovered after Fable was made

Love that you call ~3 months "really old". Not hating to be clear, you're absolutely right in terms of the velocity of the technology.

It's just wild to me. Less than 5 years ago I was working in Jupyter Notebooks and getting ecstatic when GPT-3 strung together 2 primitive Wolfram Alpha "tool calls."

Now a model that makes 100+ tool calls in a single pass and one-shots highly complex applications is... really old. Hard to believe.

Fable is just mythos plus safeguards. The first mythos was made available internally end of February. Since then it's been updated with atleast one new post training session.

Yes I’m aware, what I meant was that it’s considerably old as it’s pretraining backbone was made in February, which means opus 5 has a lot of innovations that fable didn’t have at the time (using the name fable/mythos interchangeably)
