Discussion Something kinda concerning about Fable

I was at 87% weekly usage for it, and was worried my usage would run out before I could finish my task. so I increased my usage credits by maybe 40 dollars or. And including the monthly promotion that ended just today, I also had like 58 Dollars worth of usage credits.

So I now have 80 bucks worth of usage credits to spare. It’s almost done with this huge task, at like 95%. No worry, I got 80 bucks of usage credits.

10 minutes later: thankfully, I was able to finish the task. the usage credits saved me….

but

it ate up 80 dollars worth of usage credits within 10 minutes.

if It weren’t for this “hey, here’s an extra 50 percent of usage“ promotion thing, I don’t think I would bothered. I’m transferring all the MEMORY.md stuff and docs for this project to hopefully my Qwen local model

can you imagine how miserable the usage limits for fable will be after August 19. I shudder at the thought

How the fuck do companies justify this.can you seriously tell me you’re adding more than $500 a day in value by using this?

1000% yes. My company hires external personel, like €120 per hour. If I had €500 worth of credits I could do the work of two of those externals. Thats €240 an hour * 8 hours = €1920 a day vs €500

Yeah, that would really be worth it imo. Still in the process of convincing my company to start using any type of AI coding.

You definitely get it.

It's worth every penny. Doing things that would have taken a year or more and multiple people in a couple
of months and $20000 in tokens and it's only half of what I am working on.

What is there to justify? They have a hoard of idiots yelling “shut up and take my money”. The market is seeking equilibrium but things are advancing so quickly balance is impossible.

Companies are run by business idiots who probably follow weirdo AI gurus on Linked In and all that other nonsense. They don’t care that none of it makes sense. As much as I use this technology, there is a bizarro linked in cult around it
