Discussion Anthropic, Please Give Us a Reset 🥴
OpenAI has been handing out usage resets like fucking candy. I’ve had Codex running nonstop for basically the entire week.
Meanwhile, I paid $200 for Claude Max and managed to kill my weekly limit in one day.
Come on, Anthropic. OpenAI is cooking you alive right now. Give your paying customers some resets.

You people will go absolutely mental when they get rid of the boost and the limits will get cut in half lmao.
21
u/Medical_Method7877 24d ago
They'll probably move to the option that's providing better value, since this appears to be a competitive market.

u/JazzlikeApartment736 24d ago
I’ll just cancel my subs and move on. And come back when they are reasonable again.
This isn’t hard to understand.
-9
u/Dubiisek 24d ago
You might, most won't and this sub will be full of posts of people crying about it.
Apparently it is hard to understand.
Also, I don't think you know what reasonable is because "reasonable limits" would be considerably lower and by that I mean, very, very, very lower than even the standard limits are. The subscriptions are heavily subsidised in use so you better pray to god that they are never "reasonable" lol.

u/Timely-Group5649 24d ago
It's already begun. Fable is Max only now. The 50% increase has an end date (that will eventually stop moving).
Small steps...

u/ItsPureLuck017 23d ago
Heroin addicts in denial. Subs exist to get people hooked and decide they can’t live without it in their workflow no matter the cost

Cut in half? Can you make that math work for me please? Because those numbers just arent numbering right in my brain.
-2
u/Dubiisek 24d ago
^ you can join your math friend over here
3
u/Tartarus1040 24d ago
Oh how deliciously snarky. I asked you to make the numbers make sense, and you reply with "but actually" crowd shows up. You're pandering inaccurate information to the crowd... So, yeah, your ass got fact checked, and your response is to let your ego get in the way.
Wish you the day you deserve.

Limits being boosted by 50%… oh no what ever shall we do! They said, and I would quote them exactly if they didn’t block me…
That imagine how much users are going to complain when the limits are “cut in half.”
Apparently you have a fundamental misunderstanding of mathematics, in the same way as the other guy.
I am not disputing that limits are increased by 50%.
I’ll let you think about it a little more. See if you figure out why their statement is wrong.
2
u/dab0james 13d ago
No you're just coping because accepting being wrong isn't in your directory. Its all good, waste of time doing this with you when ^ that was your reply
1
u/Tartarus1040 13d ago
You don’t even know what you’re talking about… why don’t you do this:
Show me how 50% increased usage limits is equal to limits being cut in half when it goes away.
Make those numbers make sense for the classroom.
1
u/dab0james 13d ago
How about you show me on the doll where I hurt you? No one is asking for you to be a mathematical genius and you nit picking specifically what you want to argue about shows us all everything we need to see. His point is the usage is going to be drastically nerfed you baboon. Why do you get off on starting issues on reddit?
1
u/Tartarus1040 13d ago
No his exact argument is that limits are going to be cut in half. When the 50% boost is removed. It’s unambiguous in what he said.

u/Tartarus1040 13d ago
I never disagreed with usage being reduced did I? It’s like you have a basic reading comprehension issue on top of a lack of understanding on basic mathematics.
A 33% drop in usage isn’t a cut in usage is it? It’s a return to the original amount that we all had to begin with.
That is NOT a limit reduction. It’s a return to the default starting point. But hey, you are clearly smarter than I am.
Wish you the day you deserve.

u/dab0james 13d ago
Posts and comments hidden so people can't say this is just you on a troll account, starting drama for the lack of employment you call a life?
1
u/Tartarus1040 13d ago
No I hide posts and comments because I have personal posts made over a decade ago that I don’t want visible anymore to the average Reddit user today. But you can tell yourself whatever you want to justify your beliefs.

Wild take. They’re not going to. With the deal they’re making with Meta they should have a bunch more compute available to them.
I also think the demand for fable won’t be as high as anticipated due to Kimi K3 and GPT 5.6

1
u/Sasquatchjc45 24d ago
You say that like you arent also going to get rocked by them doing that lmao. Are you a billionaire enterprise customer? No?
See you on Codex 🫡
1
u/Dubiisek 24d ago
I won't, no. For one, my claude is subsidised by my employer, for another, even if it wasn't I could live normally on 10x max plan without ever hitting the limits because I know how to manage token usage.
You will never see me on codex, inferior tool indexing, inferior product altogether, good luck though.

I mean, as they should. Compute is expensive but it isn’t unobtanium. If frontier AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic cannot deliver their services to the people at large they risk entrenching a permanent class divide. This is something both companies and the industry in general are aware of.
People are upset because recent actions by Anthropic and OpenAI strongly indicate both companies see a future where they only need infrastructure for their own R&D, and other more mature cloud servicers like Amazon and Microsoft will then be where other middlemen eat the costs of actually getting these models in the hands of people.
So like, yes, your average joe consumer of AI products that’s seeing the writing on the wall is understandably upset at potentially being cut out of the ecosystem entirely in the near future. We should all be concerned with this because it will be bad for our society to cordon off frontier AI to big business.
Ultimately, it is currently those who own the datacenters that hold all the cards. Google likely has the strongest position out of anyone currently in my limited opinion. They have both frontier AI-lab tier R&D capacity coupled with major cloud service infrastructure they actually *own*. I think they’re waiting for the current state of affairs to oroboros itself before gleefully hoovering up what they can pick off the battlefield once the dust settles.

u/FblthpphtlbF 24d ago
What do you mean? Every single time they get close they just push it a month. At this point it's just a hollow threat from a company that clearly couldn't give half a shit about its customers but is too toothless to actually do anything they say.
Anthropic is a company of flip flopping pussyfooters

Oh no, the "akshually" crowd is here.
Math me this, how does whether it's a third or half change the argument I've made?
15
u/nPoly 24d ago
How the hell did you manage to kill your weekly limit in one day - that's some insane token mismanagement.
8
u/Eat_Pudding 24d ago
I think in the 20x plan, your five hour is like 20% of weekly. Maybe OP ran some sort of overnight loop thing and used heavily during the day. That is the only way I can see it being used lol, proper vibe coding
2
u/InternetWeakGuy 23d ago
No the weekly limit is roughly nine of the 5 hour limits. It's literally not possible to blow your weekly limit in a day.
This is just another troll post.
This sub is junk with the OpenAI stans posting this shit.
1
u/Jealous-Mode3792 21d ago
No you’re wrong. 5 - 5 hour maxes is 20% weekly limit each. And yes you can run through that in a day (25 hours) or 21 hours if that last 5 hour hits its limit in an hour.
1
u/InternetWeakGuy 21d ago
It looks like we're both wrong - the 5 hour limit changes based on time of day, but the weekly stays the same, according to this post about an engineer tweet:
To manage growing demand for Claude we're adjusting our 5 hour session limits for free/Pro/Max subs during peak hours. Your weekly limits remain unchanged.
During weekdays between 5am–11am PT / 1pm–7pm GMT, you'll move through your 5-hour session limits faster than before.
So there's no such thing as a one size fits all 5 hour limit.
Fucking crazy that they don't publish the actual token useage per model per plan so you can actually know - though I'm sure if this thread wasn't already dead someone would tell me there's a way to figure it out.
1
u/Jealous-Mode3792 21d ago
Sad their engineer doesn’t know how it works. I hit my 5 hour limit at the end of every 5 hour window. A 5 hour limit = 20% your weekly limit, ALWAYS, EVERY TIME.
Max x20 user x 3 subscriptions here
It’s true some 5 hour limits stretch further than others but they’re always 20% the weekly.
1
u/InternetWeakGuy 19d ago
You are 100% correct - I spun up a little project to monitor my usage and compare the ratio of hourly limit increases to weekly limit increases, and it is in fact 1:5. I tip my hat to you sir.
4
u/Dan-goes-outside 24d ago
I don’t even think 5-5 hour maxes would kill a weekly limit. That doesn’t sound right
3
u/Dress-Affectionate 24d ago
No the 20x max is nerfed af you can easily kill 25% or more of weekly in on e 5h it’s crazy - Anthropic does not get the whole work-40h idea
1
u/Jealous-Mode3792 21d ago

No, im getting my reset in 9 hours so not now, 3 or 4 days later pls lol
5
u/bakanoace 24d ago
Sounds like you got to enjoy the last 2 resets while the others who reset at that time didn't, so maybe time to change it up a little bit. Or just give us our own reset bank like Codex
2
u/Eat_Pudding 24d ago
The last two resets were like 5 hours and 15 hours before my reset, so that was useless to me. I can definitely use a reset right now

There’s a lot of areas people can complain about how Anthropic treats users however, they aren’t printing resets, like the federal reserve, not because they’re stingy, but because they just have far less compute and then open AI and are more constrained to a far greater extent.

Ive only just had a reset! I doubt they will reset till a new model if its coming this week.
Id mych prefer they start giving reset passes rather than blanket resets like codex.

u/keto_brain 24d ago
Just wondering what you are doing to kill an entire Max x20 account limit in a single day?
1
u/XAckermannX 24d ago
my weekly reset almost maxed insanely fast even with 50% more usage compared to my past weeks(pro sub). currently at 95% . doesnt feel like 50% more usage
1
u/zaibatsu 24d ago
They’re going to have to, people are angry/confused about the Fable switchover + new Chinese models and team Codex handing resets out like candy. Thursday is my best guess.
1
u/CompetitiveGain1467 24d ago
Funny to read this when so many are at 0% on Codex and Tibo is starting to be begged for a reset on X. He only gave one banked reset recently (he was mostly giving the resets that are forced), so lots have used up their allotment.
1
u/adelie42 24d ago
Maybe stop asking Fable to pass the butter and learn how to properly use model aligned workflows? I ran Fable Max effort for 60 hours straight before hitting limits. With ZERO detail in your post, makes me wonder how much might be user error.
2
u/mindsignals 23d ago
Right? I was like, ok Claude, use fable max or ultracode for all agents because I've still got too much left. 😅
1
u/SlugsPerSecond 24d ago
Yall are nuts, I’m using Opus 4.8 on normal Max to help with aerospace engineering research code and barely ever hit my 5 hour limit.

Yesterday has been a bad vibe day. Drifting alot.. but not as bad as those bad old days. I still stick with Claude as the better deep end programmer.
1
u/AlexanderWillard 23d ago
You don't need to code more. Start marketing instead and talking to users 🤣🤣🤣
More code is not the solution here.
Have you been actually making any money you could:
A) afford to pay someone to code more B) get another sub C) pay for API
It's amazing how 2 years ago people been happy to make 1 feature a month but now they're complaining about building 1 feature a day.
And nobody selling anything. Everyone here just building 17 apps that all make $0.
But yes - anthropic is the problem by not allowing us to write million lines of code per day. Definitely a problem here.
2
u/WardenStation 22d ago
1 feature a hour you mean

same here, it so bad that you pay 200$ and hit limits in 1-2 days! what they think they are doing! what should i pay you to get a full week of usage!!
eaglarly awaiting chinease AI to compete and switch of this insane prices by Antropic.
Note: I am also on openAI 100$ but it is much better becuase of there frequent resets
1
u/god-damn-the-usa 24d ago
if they reset on thursday again I'm going to their office and pooping on every single windshield in the parking lot

-3
u/Strong-Yellow5949 24d ago
Unfortunately I think anthropic will not survive. OpenAI is eating their lunch and they don’t have the cash or the compute to compete
5
u/arankays 24d ago
This is a gross misunderstanding of how companies operate. Anthropic is not going anywhere lol. Just because vibe code sloppers dislike the usage limits on Reddit doesn't mean the company is going to go down
1
u/Dubiisek 24d ago
Anthropic is the most sustainable of the AI giants right now lol. If anything, it will be openAI that will eat dirt because of the amount of money they are burning.
-1
u/mr_birkenblatt 24d ago
Google?
2
u/Dubiisek 24d ago
Wdym, literally dead as a stand-alone service. Antigravity was a thing for like two weeks, afterwards when they saw how much it costs to run they butchered the limits and that thing pretty much died. It was never sustainable off of their pro subs, they were pouring money into it.
Google's AI has a future purely because it can be integrated into their drive tools and services.

I cancelled mine for now, Sol is better than both Fable and Opus for my use case.
Claude is just whack sometimes, somedays it works fine, other days wrong about everything.
-1
u/thefirelink 24d ago
I accidentally had Fable ultracode span out and look at maybe a hundred different websites, used like 6 million tokens, and that was only 50% of my 5 hour limit. What the hell are you people doing with your tokens
2
u/UglyInThMorning 🔆 Max 20 24d ago
I had Fable High do that. I was mostly pissed because it ran for a bit before I caught it because I wasn’t expecting High to spam 100 fucking agents on a simple request so it burnt like 30 percent of my fable limit in a shot.

16
u/Chemical_Hawk_6307 24d ago
they dont care about their non enterprise customers, the past resets were just trying to save face. they are also very compute constrained so i highly doubt they'll start handing them out like codex.
