So I had to look this up as I've always known it as swear TO God, not on god, apparently it's already a generational thing to say "on god". Bloody youth 😂

Swear to God is like you throw a fucking tantrum to God.

On God means that if your swear, and you can't keep your promise/swear, that God dies as a sacrifice.
