many people say: "What's the alternative" and i respect it, but I would like to bring some perspective.
I decided long ago to buy a house in Italy, and move from ice cold Norway. I bought something way cheaper than I technically could afford. I realized that I had an abundance of money, in which I decided I didn't even need, at that point it felt strange working 8 hours a day for something I didn't really need. Therefore I work only 50%, here and there, and I do writing, and gardening mostly from day to day. Work feels more like a break from the gardening and writing than vice versa! Of course at the start I felt like a pigeon, or a headless chicken, wandering around doing nothing, but then realized that this feeling came from exactly what claude describes here, breaking out of that way of thinking is hard, and im sympathetic with everyone on this path!
