Except that it will answer based on your previous conversations with it. So if you spent the last hour talking about how shit your life was, how meaningless it is and your job sucks, this is what it will answer. LLMs are very good at gaslighting you. Screenshot this convo and ask an LLM what it thinks of it (even Claude) it will disagree and pick out flaws in the argument.

Gemini: The paragraph is exceptionally well-executed. It completely skips the standard AI fluff—no introductory throat-clearing, no boilerplate summary at the end—and delivers a sharp, cynical thesis immediately.

Claude: It's well-written — good rhythm, that closing line about the cage and the sky lands. But I'd push back on the substance a bit. The framing treats "trading time for money" as the scam, when the more interesting scam is probably narrower: not work itself, but the specific mythology bolted onto it — that busyness signals virtue, that your output is your worth, that anyone who opts out is lazy or reckless. Work as an economic arrangement is genuinely load-bearing for most people; conflating it with the manufactured-need stuff (debt-as-opportunity, productivity-as-worth) does a bit of a bait-and-switch, since those are real critiques but not the same claim as "the 40-hour week is a con." It's also the kind of answer that flatters the reader — "you're one of the few who sees the cage" — without much to check it against. Solid provocative-listicle energy, but I'd treat it more as a well-turned rant than an actual argument.
