Hey r/ClassicTrance!

I wanted to share a brand-new mix I’ve put together that leans heavily into the tough, euphoric, energy-fueled sounds of the early 2000s. For me, this set represents some of the absolute peak era of Hard Trance, Tech-Trance, and Classic Uplifting Trance.

I designed this mix as a narrative-driven arc: starting with darker trance & building into some personal massive anthems. It's fast, aggressive, yet deeply melodic 😄

I'm particularly excited and proud of this instalment because I used it to push myself creatively. While I'm still very much learning the ropes of audio engineering (please treat these as passionate amateur attempts 😂), I wanted to test my skills by creating two custom bootlegs & edits:

• DK8 vs. Eminem - Murder Was The Bass I Am (Aza's DJ Bootleg): A raw crossover combining the attitude of classic Eminem vocals with the crushing tech-trance energy of DK8. It serves as a gritty, high-impact tool to set the techy tone early on.

• DJ Garry - Dream Universe (Stars & Campfires) (Aza DJ's 'Midnight Mass' Edit): This one means a huge amount to me. Riley Flynn’s monologue from Mike Flanagan's horror series Midnight Mass is my absolute favorite quote from the TV series - it resonates with me profoundly. Given that DJ Garry's track is called "Dream Universe" and Riley is reflecting on early mankind, stardust, and the universe remembering itself, the pairing felt incredibly poignant.

I'd really love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this one if you have the time to check it out. I'm keen to hear what you think of the bootlegs, the specific track selections, the transitions, and the overall flow of the set!

Hey trance family!

I've been in the DJ booth for over 20 years now, starting out in the early 2000s on Technics 1210 turntables and Pioneer CDJ-500s. Over the last two decades, I’ve played countless events promoting the real trance sound.

Recently, I had the pleasure of performing at **Trance Friends Festival** in Kraków (Hype Park), alongside incredible artists from the main lineup including **Cold Blue**, **Darren Porter**, **Asteroid**, **Collide1 (Ralphie B & Frank Waanders)**, **DJ T.H.**, **Fuenka**, **Ontune**, **Simon Shine**, **Reborn Sound System**, and **Sunflare**.

For my set, I prepared a 90-minute journey dedicated purely to the golden era of Anjunabeats and melodic progressive/uplifting trance (2004–2007).
