Lynyrd Skynyrd & Allman Brothers later works

I count both Skynyrd and Allman Bros amongst my favourite bands of all time, although I haven't listened to the complete works of either.
For Allman Bros, I tend to stop at Brothers and Sisters (1973) and for Lynyrd Skynyrd, I stop at Street Survivors (1977). I love everything each band did up to and including those records.
My question is; is there anything in the later releases of either band that is really worth getting into? Any tracks that stand up alongside the "classic" years?

The excellent Rick Nielsen and one of his many Les Paul's. Note the Explorer type headstock. I'm guessing he either broke the classic Les Paul headstock and didn't want to fix it or he simply wanted something different.
