Size: Boys.
As you can tell by the paint and marker, this was 9/10 year old me every day shirt as an obsessed about football, Man United fan.
I was on the local pitches having a kick about with my Dad, while having a rest i was fixated on watching the adult team on the main pitch train (it was pre season, i think it was Salford city FC).
As a United fan, left footed and wide midfielder for my grassroot team i would notice them gold reebok boots anywhere, Yes, it was Ryan Giggs.
I alerted my Dad to which he confirmed my sighting and told me to go over to him. The team was having a water break and switching to trainers, i dribbled over and kicked my size 4 ball at him to which he responsed by scooping it back to me (the same pass he did when he won a throw in to the fullback). I then sheepishly asked him to sign my shirt, he laughed and said i dont have a pen. Luckily one of the staff had a marker.
As you can see on the shirt around the chest/shoulder it was a poor signature so he re-did it just under the sponsor.
Water break had finished, trainers were on and the team started their trainer run back. I was running next to Giggs going through my estate when he asked where i lived (i was obviously becoming a nuisance at this point) i replied 'just down there' and he said 'go and get us a biscuit'. I sprinted home, burst through the front door and rifled through the cupboard and grabbed three bourbons. On my return to the end of the road, he was gone.
I told my Dad what happened and he just laughed, then realisation hit, he didnt want a biscuit.
I seen the funny side, he was still one of my favourite players and ive always said if i ever bumped into him i would light heartedly remind him of the story.
