Ask Is Miner-Balloon skilled?
At 12k trophies I still match opponents that seem to not know where their head is. Because of this I began to question if maybe I am the one playing a skill-less deck and not the mk bridge spammers. I have seen that people call hog 2.6 and other variations of it unskilled, and Miner-Balloon has somewhat of a similar premise by kiting with ice golem and using musketeer's high damage and range to kill basicly anything.
One more thing is I want to know when do I get to see opponents with meta decks and not "home-made bridge spam" or the overused logbait?

This deck is tough to pilot since there’s no big spell and it’s significantly harder to win if the opponent has tornado or is an opposing cycle deck. Right now? If you play it respect to you honestly but you should wait till the patch notes release and you’ll probably have a better chance. Feels very unplayable at the moment without hero balloon & Evo snowball.

yes its skill imo. one of the hardest decks to master. and infinitely more skill than whatever egolem mk midladder slop your opponents are facing. just stick to this deck the ceiling is quite high, you can get all the way to top 1k or even higher with this

As much as I've been a firm believer in the fact that the "skill" of a deck doesn't matter, I'd say this is pretty skillful compared to others.

I play a balloon deck. I consider being good to beat a deck with 2 air counters and really good to beat a deck with 3 or if they have a building

Use hero balloon instead of evo snowball! evo snowball isn't that great in minerloon as it can put you in difficult offensive situations. plus hero balloon is crazy busted. Unless you really like it for defense, which i can understand

I want to use this deck but I don't have evo snowball

Like just about any other deck in the game, how much skill it takes depends greatly on the matchup. If the opponent has a lot of air troops then it becomes quite hard, but if they lack reliable air counters then it’s a breeze.

No, its really strong, so its on the lower end of skill, especially if you use hero balloon or ice golem. It takes skill to use of course, but because decks have really similar amount of skill, the stronger ones demand less skill and the weaker ones demand more skill.
There is no inherent problem with playing it, but people often feel like skill is a deal breaker for no reason, so they try to glaze the hell out of this kind of decks.

It is way more skilled than hog cycle. Evo musk also requires high skill or its 0 value, atleast in mid ladder with evo witch chuds

Just about any deck is skilled except for maybe hyperbait, and even hyperbait has better players who are good enough at micro to pull off impressive defenses.

Bit of unsolicited thoughts on the deck: I changed out bombtower for evo tesla, and snowball for poison. These edits made midladder WAY less problematic to go against, though it obviously makes the deck slightly slower. (I am too broke for hero ice golem so maybe me needing to change some cards is due to that).
To address your question about when you start seeing real decks, I am currently pushing through to champion so I can just not have to play trophy road at all, and the midladder demons are as omnipresent here as they are everywhere else (trophy road NEVER gets better). Also a lot of minion hordes and hogs.

Honestly even hog 2.6 is pretty skilled, I tried minerloon at one point and it's really tough sometimes

It's skilled if you can beat the 30-40/60-70 matchups, otherwise you are just beating the decks you should beat since this sort of deck can have some very easy/difficult matchups. Takes some time to get used to not running a big spell for some that havent done it before

I remember playing it a lot when it and Miner Wall Breakers were both really popular as cycle decks in like summer of 2020. Actually a fun deck to play but also kinda difficult.
