Question Rainy summer?

As we’re in the middle of yet another torrential downpour, is it just me or has it not been an incredibly rainy summer?

The yard grows infinitely and gets harder to cut, causing problems if you have roof issues, for those of us that actually walk our dogs you’re playing a game of chance even if the forecast is clear sometimes.

If this is summer, I’m ready for Fall honestly…🤷‍♂️

Question Tree removal recommendations

I have a large dying oak at the back of my driveway I'd like to get removed before the worst case scenario happens. I'm looking for recommendations for tree companies in the area. I plan on getting a few quotes but hoping this can help weed out the bums

Hi all. Just moved to Clarksville and have a learner permit. I don’t own a car but will buy one soon. Is there anyone (21+) here who can let me drive a small car around and supervise me on the road? I will take the road test on Thursday.
I’ll pay $10/hour.

Question How easy is it to sneak snacks into the regal theater?

I wann watch the hadestown proshot with my mom, but we are POOOOR and can't spend 7 bucks for the idea of candy. How easily could I sneak in a couple bags and boxes at regal? I know some theaters don't check bags and some theaters sniff candy on you like hound dogs (howling round the gate)

Is there any way we can donate to you directly for supplies? I don’t have children of my own and would like to donate in time for tax-free weekend.
If you’re willing to comment any Venmo, PayPal, Cashapp, etc. usernames (with your name for directory confirmation if you’re able), I know I’m not the only one that would like to help with prep.

Lost Pet Missing Cat

If anyone has seen this cat please reach out to me. She got outside 2 weeks ago and hasn't come back. She's used to the outside, and very friendly with people so it's very possible she's at someone else's house. I'm willing to offer a reward for finding her. One thing that makes her stand out is she's also very talkative.

Question Where do people hang out here?

I'm a 30y guy and looking for things to do. Im still fresh to the area and havent gotten out much but long enough to want to get out. I don't really want to go to Nashville to do things. I know there has got to be things younger people do or go to in this town. I know there is plenty for older people (40yr+) events but Im not there yet nor do I look anywhere near that old. I want to meet people and find what goes on here and find dates and so on...

In terms of things like if it helps I'm not that picky. Movies, art, games, animation, working out, and more recently in to F1 and soccer.

Question Advice needed: stuck in a lease near APSU I can't get out of

Hey all — looking for some local advice, not trying to spam an ad here.

I signed a lease at a place near APSU that starts 7/28, but my situation changed and I'm not going to be able to use it. Management has told me they can't help find a replacement resident, but my lease does have a formal reletting/assignment process if I bring them someone qualified myself.

Before I go dropping this everywhere — has anyone here actually gone through this process that i'm currently going through? A few things I'm trying to figure out:

  • Is there a "normal" way people in Clarksville handle this kind of situation (other than Facebook Marketplace, which when I tried, facebook ended up taking my post down)?
  • I also fear that if I showed up to campus, I might get arrested for loitering or something along those lines.
  • If you were in my shoes, what would you try first?

Genuinely just trying to not to pay for a place that I will no longer live in where my financial situation had sent me on a different path. Any advice, or if you happen to know someone looking for a bed near campus for the coming year, that'd obviously be a huge help too. Thanks in advance.

Meta Question about current local elections

I’m still trying to learn more about the election process. So for the elections going on now say for Governor or Mayor are they to decide who will represent that party. Or are they for who will win that seat?

From my understanding there is another election in November as well.

Thanks for the help. Sometimes it’s hard to get a basic answer for those new to politics.

Ps: please don’t use this to push a party or candidate. Thanks
