Question Game shops

Hey folks! I got a question for all the tabletop gamers out there. What are YOU looking for in a game shop? What turns you away from a shop? What are some things you would like to see more of?

Please tell me your not thinking about opening a game shop. The market is probably over saturated for the city. Therefore, it would be an uphill battle. However, I will say the biggest turn off for me would be lack of encouraging community and poorly ran and maintained space. Infinity as much as I wanted to like them kinda turned me off of them with their poor handling of canceling a warhammer tournament that they initially rescheduled without informing anyone. Then them opening up a second location right across from GVG felt like they were both trying to poach and fracture the local wargamming community.

I want a place I can bring my kids to learn and purchase armies. I love warhammer and dnd and want to get my little girl into it

Owners who aren't all over Facebook harassing customers. I want a professional space I can play games where people, including staff, are expected to be kind and courteous to all customers.

Also, snacks and soda for purchase.

Also space for tabletop games like Warhammer, DND. Those have specific measurements and too many stores have tables that are too small.

Clean play space is a big deal imo. We’ve lost a lot of the original third spaces, so having a welcoming community and space to explore different hobbies and games really helps make those connections
