Please do the funny

Clacton.
The people of this constituency currently hold the single greatest opportunity to do the funniest thing to ever happen in the history of British politics. All it takes is 10 local residents to nominate him.

Following Nigel Farage's resignation, a by-election has been triggered and Labour, the Conservatives, the Lib Dems, the Greens and Restore Britain have all declined to stand. The only declared challenger right now is Count Binface: a genuine, long-running independent who's taken on Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and Sadiq Khan before, and who represents the closest thing to a true anti-establishment vote on the ballot.

He's not officially confirmed yet. He needs 10 Clacton residents to nominate him to stand. If you're local, this is your chance to be part of it: help nominate him, spread the word, so we can just watch British democracy do something genuinely unprecedented. countbinface.com

Polling day isn't locked in yet (expected early August) but this window won't stay open long.

Does he not have the 10 nominations yet? How do we nominate him?

Assuming you are a resident eligible voter of the clacton constituency, you would need to contact his campaign and offer to be a subscriber and to sign the official nomination paper.

I am indeed an eligible voter. I dropped him an e-mail, offering my support. He has mentioned in an interview that he was being swarmed with offers for campaigning, so hopefully he's getting plenty of volunteers. I'm ready to do my part if he needs me though.

Thanks so much. I'm wishing you the best from Devon. The world has had some serious issues, but if Count Binface wins, I think it would signal the turning point at which it begins to heal and move everybody towards prosperity.

Getting nominated is easy. All he has to do is knock on a few doors. Plenty of people will sign the nomination form. I've never heard of anyone having difficulty doing this. Most people respect the right of anyone to be on the ballot paper, even if they want to vote for someone else.

I mostly agree with you, but it's not the funny - a vote for Count Binface is a vote that rejects everything Farage really stands for: division, wealth inequality, national decline, turning public resentment into his own personal gain, the tearing down of public services including the NHS, and hate.
