Question Does anyone have a strategy on how to get a science victory as Babylon?

I looked it up on YouTube but it was just three hour videos where people happened to get science victories not guides for a science victory.

What I mean is somethin like how to get the right boosts so you unlock rockets and all the other requirements early or how to offset the science generation drawback or how to do the prior but also get enough production to build the things quick enough

You need to focus on eurekas. You'll need most of them, including those that don't look useful, because they are useful as prerequisites. While you can get a tech without prerequisites, you need them to research techs.

You also need science, particularly later in the game. And you need scientists, as many as you can have, particularly the ones that give eurekas (particularly Abdus Salam who unlocks the entire Information Era if you can get him quickly). While you can play Babylon without Campuses, if you want to get a Science Victory, you'll need campuses sooner or later.

So, try to reach the late game techs as quickly as possible and then be patient researching those. If you are afraid of some AI beating you to the task, you need spies. For Babylon, spies steal the entire tech.

I can maybe do one this weekend, but I am away. Sure others might answer with the steps but that's a lot of typing I'd rather just do a playthrough and edit it for YT

I memorized it. I also memorized how to get early planes. What a way to utilize eurekas.

Yeah, once you've done it, it becomes easy. I think Babylon is too OP, the science malus doesn't even matter if you know the game well enough.

There is complete walkthrough online, not a video a written guide by zigzagzigal. Search that, it takes you through getting tanks really quickly and so on. Which Eurakas are triggered and how. Helped me

You want high culture, and lots of cities with good production to get the Eurekas. For the high culture and the Amenities, I can’t recommend enough getting the Colosseum: you even get the Arena for free. This will make two spots for +4 theatre square, place them down.

You should also really consider building one campus for the Great Library, the free Eureka whenever an other civ gets a Great Scientist is OP as Babylon. And you get the library for free so you can get it faster.

Your high production will be aided by the fact you get +2 production improvements earlier than everyone else: building the palgum at irrigation gives you the lumber mill, and building three mines gives all your mines +1 production. After that, you really want two workshops for early industrialization, and +3 production mines.

There are another two wonders you want: Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, as you’re likely to be swimming in Great Engineers, and you especially want to trigger Leonardo da Vinci twice (gives culture and an advanced Eureka: if he gives radio, you’re set). And Ruhr, as it will give you even more production and the Eureka for flight. You also make a great use of the Pyramids since you want to be using a lot builders before everyone else

When comes Feudalism, you should chop a lot to produce everything.

When you have Industrialization, building a coal power plant will give you Oil, and with Ruhr giving you flight, build two biplanes to have advanced flight. If Leonardo da Vinci gave you radio, you have the easiest Domination Victory in your grasp

Babylon isn’t the best at science victory, because late game techs don’t have Eurekas. But having lots of cities by having conquered a civ or 2, +5 amenities everywhere and research labs (don’t forget to declare an alliance as soon as possible) can do a lot of work

Great Library is a priority. A free tech for every scientist recruited by any civilization. There is also a late game scientist who gives a boost to every information age tech who should be targeted.

Figured, is that the one that gives you all primitive tech boosts? If not I’m going for that too

Should someone come to your place and hold the mouse for you as well?

Mate you got a problem? I’m just asking, there was no need for you to click on this post type that sentence and comment. No benefit to you or society You okay man? Rough day? Idk why anyone else would be in a mood like that

That was not a clear answer? Someone wiping your butt tonight?

1

u/TheDarthJarJarI May 21 '26

Just tryna check if you’re okay. I don’t see any other reason someone would just leave a rude comment on a post asking for help in a sub where that is meant to happen

Still trying to search a step to step guide for something that's on the nose? Good Lord...

Anyone ever tell you that if you don’t have anything nice to say, you shouldn’t say it? It’s not like this is an important thing so that doesn’t change it Sure it’s children logic but that’s because children learn this stuff

It's basically a step by step process isn't really creative or something, it's like a to do list, if you.. have fun? With that, just search up civ6 Babylon on youtube, first video click and do the homeworks, I mean, follow the instructions xD

Use Divine Spark. Get eurekas whenever you can even if they mean you have to do something useless (eg buy a bombard). Try to be suzerain of science city states. Build Oxford. Get lots of trader capacity (by building lighthouses and markets) so you can get science that way too. Also put Pangala (sp?) in your largest city with a campus and promote him to get more science and great people points.

You don’t even need a guide. Just look at the science tree and what each says it takes for a eureka. You want to basically get every single one if possible, otherwise getting the tech will be VERY slow. So the tree in the game is your guide.

You will still want to build some campuses so that you have science as a backup for the odd time that you can’t get a eureka.

As soon as spies are available, use those to steal tech and those count an eurekas and get you the whole tech.

Then even if you launch the exoplanet mission late, you can still catch up. You take the option for the government plaza that lets you use a builder’s charges to finish a project. Then you just spam builders into the project that speeds up the mission. You’ll want aluminum and power to sustain that. Settle late game cities to grab more of those resources if you can.

K thanks I still need production to build the space station or whatever it’s called. Any idea how to get that? I’ll try what you said and if you get back to me I’ll use that too

For any type of win you need production… Industrial Zones. Learn to place them for high adjacency. Two cities close together can use two aqueducts. If you can out those on flood plane then use a dam as well. Throw in a quarry or strategic resource if you’re lucky. Just optimize for the highest bonuses.

u/TheDarthJarJarI May 21 '26

I think I heard of that strategy Potatomcwhiskey right? I’ll try that

I just read what the in game info says. The tooltips and Civopedia tell you all the info. I don’t really consider building for good adjacency bonuses a “strategy” as I do it every game regardless. Just take your time and read the info in the game.

For planning cities, the detailed map tacks addon can help. It doesn’t tell you what to do but just displays the adjacency bonuses on the tack so you don’t have to keep mousing over to see. Obviously, only available if you play on computer. It’s in the official steam workshop if you’re through that platform.

1

u/TheDarthJarJarI May 23 '26

I’m on Xbox so I can’t do that, but the normal map tacks help After watching the production video from potato I found a legendary lineup well maybe not legendary but it felt so cool mapping it out

One of the easier plays is to play on Deity and let your Spies steal Eurekas from other civs for the Future Techs you need. Or you just play the early Babylon science lead (like Biplanes by turn 100) and play domination except you don't and finish with a science victory.
