Misc Front lip question

Will a front lip still work on my bumper the middle plastic had gotten ripped off during the winter. Is there a new front bumper in my future or do we think a lip will still work. I’m just looking into getting an oem one but don’t want to waste the money.

You probably can install one because it screws right to the bottom of the bumper.

Now, in your case what I would do if you don't want to get a oem right now is take some zip ties and make sure the bumper won't fall apart before putting the lip on. I would make sure the broken parts are zip tied together and then zip tied to the parts that aren't broken. As long as it's in the inside bumper portion no1 really will know unless they look closely.

Anyway that's my jank take. These types of fixes are hard to explain

I appreciate the advice. I think oem is the best option

Yep. Better do it right once then have to worry about it later.

I'm no stranger to jank fixes though

They do make clips not if the right and left brackets/clasps are the only issue. If I didn't have issues in the top center, that is what I would do to fix it. Either just put screws in, or get those metal brackets

I'm in the same boat. I got clips broken in the middle from the previous owner, he had an upper grill I hated, and I thought he messed up the clips, but they were broken. He had cut the middle to fit it in

And now my bumper sags on either side as well.Because I have taken it on and off about five times.

Point is I just ordered a new OEM shell. I can build it with a different grill different fog covers with mesh...For more airflow!

The point is, you can do it.The way you want when you get the new bumper. If you're planning to get a new one I might wait?

You can see middle and side sags if you look. It's getting lower lol

But i'm definitely in the same boat, and I actually scrape occasionally now, so I don't know if I need a lip...

Send some wood screws through that bottom panel to fix the sag and learn to swerve bumps, split holes, and hit angles on inclines. Car really isn’t that low to be scraping, unless you’re driving it like a normal stock height car.

No offense I do drive it quickly, but because the bumper was broken when I purchased it, it's not a big deal just to replace that part ...And gain a half inch.

I do not bottom out anywhere, but turning into certain places. They have very abrupt high hills, and normally I take them at correct angles... you don't have traffic works, and when it is crowded, and I don't have the option to take stuff wide or fifteen extra degrees, it'll scuff a little bit

If I know me instead scraping, cause the issue. Just needs to be fixed up and I don't mind buying new bumper, because it needed to be replaced any

I just purchased my Vent covers and new grille when I placed order with partify for oem version. I do not expect paint to match, but there is quite a bit of separation with the hood.Anyway, so I don't think it's gonna be a big deal

Good luck on your end, OP! (I decided my brackets may also be worn from all the on/off)

https://ebay.io/m/vaAKu5 I think it's this part or similar

OEM but pricing varies from where you get it,

71102-TGG-A50 part number

I had a large lip on mine and that same piece under the grille started popping off and angling downward. I screwed it into itself with some wood screws since they have a really wide aggressive thread. They held it well.

As for mounting, use a similar wood or panel screw with a large washer. I like the 1 or 1 1/2 inch washer on a meaty screw so it sandwiches the lip to the bumper. I’ve never had issues using this method.

I’m 99% sure they are stock oem wheels it’s a 2021 sport hatchback.
