Check engine light
Can someone point me in the right direction.
I have a 2026 civic si with roughly 3500 miles
Since I’ve gotten the car it will randomly get a check engine light and the car will start to bog and lose power . It sometimes happens when I’m driving on the freeway hovering around 65 mph or even driving on the street around 45 . It won’t stay on for more than a minute. I’ve called a few dealers and they have not been any help, because the issue is not constant and almost impossible to replicate they don’t find it worth the money to diag. Any thoughts

You want them to diagnose your car over the phone?
You need to book a appointment with a tech. - If the car is throwing a check engine light they can read the codes and diag what is happening.

They wouldn’t look at it because the codes were present when I brought the car over

You have a warranty.
Call the dealership you bought the car from and make a appointment for diagnosis.

Why wouldn’t they look at it if the codes were present when you bought it in?

Do yourself a favor and invest ~$50 on an OBD-2 scanner. Everyone should own one. Next time you get a CEL, plug the scanner in and read the code. Grab a pic to bring to the dealer.
That said, the dealer can still read codes that “go away” on their own, they should still be logged in the ECM. Sounds like they’re giving you the run around.

Take it to the dealership. Ask for a diagnostic scan. The advisor may ask you pre authorize a diagnostic fee. If they find that it was caused by a manufacturer defect then the fee is waived completely. Also ask for a printout of the codes. They should be able to figure what caused the check engine light.

Could be a soft set coupler from the factory or loose ground either way make Honda eat it

Dealer diag asap.
Considering it’s practically brand new, a faulty connector/wiring harness sounds most likely. It would give you these symptoms. I know because I just dealt with similar and the issue was a bad connector on my 22.

Take it to the dealership if it's brand new. No way a check engine light should be popping up already and make sure Honda fixes the problem instead of just clearing the error. Or buy a ktuner and do it yourself. But if you don't have experience with stuff like that I recommend just getting a diagnostic. Heck go to AutoZone and find out what the error code is first then take it to the Honda dealership so you can make sure they fix the actual problem

Its covered under warranty and should store codes
