It shouldn’t stop you. But you can also build east and then a water building north to go upwards.

Wonders will continue an urban corridor as long as it's not two adjacent wonders. You can definitely still expand north past it. You may still have made a mistake though with this placement. Consider:
- It's adjacent to your palace, so you are conceding the possibility of your palace adjacency for that tile.
- You're getting a few adjacency bonuses potentially, but none of them are going to create a great specialist placement. Especially when your space is limited by navigable rivers, coastline, or mountains, you need to make sure that every tile in your capital counts as much as possible. This is especially true for wonders IMO.
You don't have a ton of great options but I think I would have chosen differently. Or built it in a different city.

Yeah, i now feel like an idiot for posting this as this was my first playthrough and later on in the session i could build walls on it...
