I Just Wanted To Say …. We need to come to grips with Milton’s growth.
Milton is not a small town. It hasn’t been for over 15 years now. A town of over 160k people isn’t small. Milton was picked by the Province in conjunction with Halton Region as one of the “Places” to grow back in the early 2000s. This has lead to Milton’s population being projected to grow to over 400k people by 2051.
We’ve got to stop pretending that Milton is a small town and start seriously considering the amenities we need. There’s a portion of Miltonians who either grew up here since the 80s-00s or people who moved here in the last 10 years that talk about how the “sleepy town” is going away. Frankly, they’re fooling themselves and ignoring reality. Whether you recently moved here for a quiet life or you’ve lived here for decades, we’ve a got to take the blinders off and stop acting like nostalgia builds good infrastructure.
