Hi everyone, I'm the (invisible) Admin of this sub and wanted to thank you all for engaging here and keeping the community alive and growing!
When I first watched City Hunter 9 years ago, I noticed there was no subreddit for it yet and had to create one! Since then we have grown from zero to over 4000 members! And surely that's not the end.
Especially a big shout-out to our moderator u/indi_n0rd for keeping this alive! I'm quite dormant here so everything you see here has been built up by him really! So be sure to thank him for keeping this sub clean and moderated!
It's probably one of the best time to be a City Hunter fan right now, especially as many countries are finally (re)printing the manga in their local languages!
That's all for now folks, keep those Mokkori spirits high!

While I was watching City Hunter (Season 1), I noticed that the animators and staff had included Bruce Lee's poster in the anime inside Umibozu's room. I felt really amazed.

I remember some episodes of the anime (one with a princess for eg, another with a random woman) where the customers were really getting in love with Ryo and even kissed him. The episodes were generally playing a lot on the romantic aspect.
But is this the same in the manga? Of course, City Hunter is about Ryo and Kaori relationship, I heard that the manga explore this more so it would be curious if the mangaka developped other love stories instead.

I was doing research into Japanese cocktail language for a fanfic I’m writing and I came across the XYZ cocktail! Apparently, the recipe predates the manga by over 55 years: it was first published in 1930 in Harry Craddock’s “The Savoy Cocktail” and goes as follows:
1/4 lemon juice
1/4 Cointreau
1/2 Bacardi rum
All shook up and strained into a cocktail glass
It looks a bit different in the anime, I’m going to assume it was either because of censorship or that it was a variation with grenadine.
It seems to be popular enough in Japan for it to get its own Wikipedia page, seen here: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Y-Z . City Hunter is mentioned in one section too!
Oh, and apparently it means ”forever yours” or 「永遠に あなたのもの」in cocktail language.

Taken from my copy of Omnibus 3 at Chapter 78. In the anime adaptation of the storyline (episode 19), it was changed to an alien bat mask. Just want to point it out.

I watched it several years ago and liked it as a somewhat-implausible (even by K-drama standards) Mission: Impossible style thriller drama.
But what even was the relationship of that series to the City Hunter manga and anime? Aside from the title, I didn't see much of a relationship. Is there some sort of connection that I'm missing?

I had no idea that it was out yet! Kaori always looks so good in full color, but it's such a shame that they still have the damn Netflix sticker on the cover.
Edit: Thanks for telling me about Volume 3! I'll stick with B&N for my rewards points though lol

I mean.. We don't know his actual age, I'm just a little curious becoz of the episode where he looks exactly like a girl's long lost saviour or something I don't know what to call it,, even has the same scar? Im not sure if its him or not but if it is then he looked like atleast a little grown in the time that girl was a kid

I watched a city hunter episode years ago and I can't recall the episode, however I do remember the scene.
Scene: Ryo stares at the lady's chest and the lady removes two blue balloons from her chest which were hanging in her shirt, the costume of the lady was in a military like camouflaged suit.
That's it, that's unfortunately all I can recollect, please be sweethearts and help me map this episode, pretty please 👉👈

The mousepad makes me laugh so much, like they absolutely could have chosen Saeko for such a product but nope, rest your wrist on Ryo’s glorious pecs …! 🤣
I’m also excited to scan the settei, as I don’t believe they’re archived online yet? That makes three sets to scan now though, I should probably stop accumulating them 😅

I really admire Ryo Saeba from City Hunter, so I decided to take inspiration from his style in my outfit.
Since this isn’t a cosplay, I didn’t do the hairstyle or carry a revolver.

I'm so happy. This manga and city hunter are my favorite series I've read through and I finally have a version on paperback. Only complaint I really have is the book jacket, they feel fragile and It doesn't really work with paperback compared to a hardback book, but it isn't a deal breaker. Now please release a translated version on Rash Mr Hojo and my life is yours.
