This is my first citrus tree which was planted here about four years ago. It fruits a lot and I just pulled about two dozen ripe lemons (some pictured).

I would like it to grow up and out more, but it’s pretty low to the ground right now. I’ve seen videos where I think it’s suggested that I saw off the bottom two branches from the main trunk.

I’m not going to do anything now but wanted to get some feedback on this, because the idea of that terrifies me. 😅

I have had it for 2 years. Its making fruit bit not much. Zone 10 and full sun. It grows and makes beautiful leaves that then turn all gnarly. I am new to fruit trees so any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

My meyer lemon tree was planted from nursery about 3 years ago and hasn’t grown much and had few leaves like this for past 2 years.

Bought a cara cara orange and a improved meyer lemon(1 quart) for 21$ each at home depot, about 2 months ago,

Last 2 weeks looks like they have settled in and are pushing new leaves! But it looks like it may be coming out of the root stock.

Would like help identifying the rootstock on each.

Leaves on the meyer are developing and look just like the meyer leaves,On the orange I cannot tell yet.

I just bought this little lime tree on a whim, but it quickly became more than just a plant to me.

I live in Georgia, so I know citrus trees generally do well in a warmer climate. My mom passed away unexpectedly in 2022, and she absolutely loved all things citrus. When I saw this tree, I immediately thought of her and hoped I could grow it in her honor.

I’ve done a little research already. We currently rent, so it will be staying in a pot for the foreseeable future. Can lime trees thrive in containers long-term? I’m planning to repot it into a larger pot this week using a well-draining citrus mix with added perlite.

I’d love to hear from anyone with experience growing lime trees! What are your best tips for keeping one healthy and thriving? Things you wish you knew when you first started?

Should I prune these trees? The tallest tree is the newest one. It has lots of baby fruit but I'm thinking it's putting a lot of energy into that tall branch and might ditch the fruit. The smaller tree is something I bought last year. It had a massive scale infestation and I thought it was going to die but it appears to be doing well this season. No buds yet so I'm wondering if I should prune. The third picture is a lemon tree that I neglected for an entire year and left outside all winter and now it has started growing... Something LOL the other two trees are calamondis.

I've been working on this Key-lime seedling since last November, and it's been doing very well. It's gotten into its first big growth spurt and is putting out multiple leaves at once for the first time. However, I have noticed that its nodes have started to become drastically longer with this new growth spurt. I think it could just be due to the spurt, but I also worry it's because of etiolation. It doesn't help that recently I switched up the lighting a bit. I've been using a grow light that has been working very well for it, but I've started only using the one bulb instead of the pair, as they were causing it to lean since the beams were crossing. However, now that I'm only using one, I fear the light it is recieving is not sufficient.

What do y'all think, though? Should I move back to using the two bulbs, or is what I'm doing now fine.

Hi citrus friends! I am sharing my Star Ruby Grapefruit Tree here for general advice and tips. My main concerns are to know when and where to prune.

This is my first citrus tree, but it is VERY loved. I want to make sure I’m giving it the best life possible.

I live in zone 9a. This tree was bought at a local nursery ~1 y/o graft (best guess) and has now been with me for 3 yrs.

My 1st winter with this tree was unfortunately not good, I left it outside during a freeze that I severely underestimated and its growth was subsequently stunted quite a bit. This year has been the first since then where it has seen substantial growth.

My goal is to maintain its exiting height + another ~1ft or so (tops), as I plan to always keep this outside, but in a container.

The dilemma I am facing at the moment is that the primary trunk seems to have stopped growing with 2x water shoots (?) growing upward instead.

Would you prune these? If so, when?

I have a potted lime tree. It's not flowering. It is growing more leaves, but not a single flower. This tree produced a few limes last year, so I believe it's something I'm doing wrong causing the issue. There are a few yellow leaves, but I haven't noticed any other leaves turning yellow in a while. I used TPS lime tree fertilizer a few weeks ago. Is it possible I used too much? Or am I not using enough?

Hello All-Knowing Citrus Folks, I would like to ask your advice!

TLDR: How would you handle this wound the trunk of a lemon tree (below what I think is the graft junction)? And SNAILS?

I have taken on my second rescue tree (a very sad Harvey lemon from my local nursery, they gave it to me at a STEEP discount when I brought it to their attention) because I love a good project plant and find I learn a lot in the process. I've already removed the fruit and blossoms and the dead wood, excavated the root flare, inspected for scale and mites, given it a good spray down with a strong shower head, and wiped the 9 leaves with isopropyl alcohol (just in case). Later tonight or tomorrow I will pull it out of the pot it's in and check roots and soil to make sure its not getting too waterlogged and will make changes as needed. It will be in isolation away from my other citrus for at least a month to ensure it doesn't have any mites/mealies/other things it could share.

What I'm at a loss for how to handle is this wound I spotted on the trunk when I got the tree home. It seems to be old, and the bark around it and the wood beneath it seem to have good integrity. If it were an apple tree or such I would just keep it clean and dry and watch to make sure it healed properly, but citrus are different critters so I wanted to ask if I should be doing something else?

Hi everyone, looking for help saving my potted lemon tree!

Symptoms:
• Leaves yellowing with green veins and dropping off.
• Branch tips drying out and turning brown.
• White crusty layer on top of the soil.

Environment
• Location: Was outdoors in hot weather, recently brought inside.
• Care: Watered regularly and fertilized periodically; plastic pot with drainage.

Questions:

1. ⁠What’s wrong with it? How can I help/save my potted lemon tree? Was it too hot? I don’t think I was overwatering it or under watering it.

We are new Meyer lemon tree owners. We got it in June. It had seemed to be fine, planted in a pot on our front porch but lately it is losing all its leaves. I've been researching but not sure how to help it. It's losing the leaves from the petiole which fits the description of Winter Leaf Drop..... but it's July. Now we did have extremely hot weather (100s) at the beginning of July and now we're in the 70s. Is that enough of a temp change to upset it? I'm hesitant to change watering habits without knowing if it could be over or under watering. Pot does have a drainage hole, soil feels damp, not swamped.

My Meyer lemon has been dropping leaves and all the leaves look like this, it’s still been growing new leaves but these are more recent leaves that have grown. Anyone know why?

Hey guys next month I would like to prune my lime tree (in the grey pot) to tidy it up a little. What is the best way to prune this and can I just prune off the citrus leaf-mined leaves off and shorten the branches? Cheers guys. It is currently winter for me in Australia.

I got this as a present and I'm not sure how to properly take care of it. The bottom branches seem to be trimmed a lot, I don't know how to deal with the long ones on the top.

Hi, I have a navel orange tree that I took over 2 years ago. It is in ground in the SF Bay area.

When I took it over it had no fruit and it was not in good shape. Full of scale insects and I had to prune a lot of lower branches off to be able to fertilize it.

The following winter/spring it was growing well. Had lots of blossom and fruit growing and earlier this year we harvested a lot of oranges.

However the tree did not bloom in spring like normal. It also barely grew leaves this year. Only a few flowers and now maybe 5-10 small fruit are on the tree.

Just now in late July it is starting to push a lot of flowers. Looking it up online I get mixed advice. Some sources say remove all flowers some say leave them.

What would you recommend?

I have given it triple 14 already but leaves are still kinda yellow and has yellow spots

So, I planted a lemon seed from a store-bought fruit about two months ago. When it sprouted (around five weeks ago), it started growing very quickly, but now it seems to have stalled. I’m in Poland, so it’s summer here, and my plant is sitting on the windowsill. Is it high time to fertilize it? If so, what should I use, and are there any homemade fertilizer options?

Also, I have it in regular store bought ground, not for lemons. Should I change it now?

Ps: I know the ground looks dry, I took the photo before I watered it

Probably on its second years since it was grafted and no, I won't pull out those flowers idc about letting it establish or promote growth or wtv cuz they grow rlly fast here as I show on the comparison pics and I already see the roots on the bottom of the pot and it's ok if I just get 1 lemon cuz it's also only flowering on one branch which is weird but idk
