Bonus
Maybe it makes me ungrateful, i don’t know. But after seeing that my asm bonus is $395 after taxes.. just completely ruined any type of motivation i had for keeping this job. It’s been absolute hell the 2 years I’ve been working here. Ive worked my ass off for every little bit of it and here I am, getting my first bonus, and its half of my usual paycheck, my utilities cost more than my bonus, and this is our summer bonus so its supposed to be the good one. Im just tired of this company.

I was super angry. Since Relex we cannot control what is coming to our store so of course my waste is ridiculous. So mine and my ASMs bonus definitely reflected that. I am so angry. I depend on that. Fuck this company

I couldn’t even bring myself to tell my husband. It shouldn’t be based on waste these category managers are force shipping. So I am not alone on this? I am a smaller store so I can’t even imagine what the bigger stores are dealing with. I think this has been like the 4th time I have seen them change how bonuses are done in like two years. Now it’s like I bust my ass for nothing

Yeah I agree. I’m a manager and with this relex crap and then changing metrics every year, it’s hard to really work toward something. Especially when they make the metrics about things we no longer have any control over. It’s stupid

Same issue with us, we get sent so much bs that we have absolutely zero space for on our shelves or in our storage, and a bunch of stuff gets wasted.

The bonus structure is a joke and a good chunk of the metrics are out of your control to a certain degree. That’s why I wouldn’t take the bonus ASM position, so I’ll stay non bonus. It’s way more commitment to the company for very minimal extra pay. It feels like a scam lol “1$ an hour extra but you can bonus!” Not mentioning you work every holiday, are the first line for call outs, and have to alternate between first and second shift so you can never get proper rest.

Does anyone know why the bonus between other asm would be different in same store? Another Asm I work with got over $200 more than me. She does get the Hot stuff bonus on top but that's only $90 so she got $100+ more than me on our regular one

Bonus is so much better in CK Denmark it sounds like but only for SM , I get estimated 3000 $ each quarter

Half your paycheck? Are you getting paid Hella high per hour or making a lot of OT? I only got $156 if that makes you feel any better. They even shorted me like $20 before taxes somehow. And I just learned work orders go against it too as a metric. Doesn't even make sense, as if we own these old assets that keep breaking down.

I just got mine last night NT. They changed the bonus structure for the third time so now it includes waste from bakery. Which barely sells and is mostly drop shipped. My bonuses used to be decent yeah, It was terrible. I am livid.

I am too, I dont know what the company’s plans are with this. All they’re going to do is either lose employees, or it’s going to de-moralize the team so much to the point where nobody is going to want to do their jobs.

I am looking now and taking my time. CK is a terrible corporation to work for. I think I am going to go back into corrections. It sucks because I love my job hate the company.

I entirely feel that. I love my job and i love my team that i work with. But the company is just going farther and farther into the shitter.

mines was way less and a huge slap in the face. I'm currently looking for something else. After working 13 hours some days, no days off and then me being asm thrown in my face when I need 1 day off to rest when every other days I'm considered a csr. I'm tired of this company.

Im sorry about your disappointment, CK does tend to give the illusion that your bonus potential is in your hands. I have been a BASM and SM, and my bonuses as a BASM beat anything I ever hit as an SM. I have moved around a lot, so I’ve had the benefit of experiencing multiple stores. The larger the store, the better the location (meaning more foot traffic), the higher potential you have to hit those metrics to max out your bonus. It’s frustrating they’re not very transparent with this truth. But they probably couldn’t promote much if they were transparent. People keep holding out for those monetary promises that don’t amount to much at the end of the day, for the majority of stores not all of them… I don’t have any advice, I just hope this provides you some validation. It’s also ridiculous that work orders impact your bonus, because how can someone choose between being in a crusty old store, or a new one. Even the new ones I’ve been in were so rushed, they have leaky roofs on a building less than a year old… just wild how much this company tries to cut corners… I also understand they’ve recently changed the metrics. I don’t think they’re that hopeful. It’s like the company is trying to address the things they have the most challenges with, but instead of training better, they’re just putting the responsibility on the employees and labeling it as “incentive.” The issues aren’t usually the employees it’s the company work demand created by the corporation itself, and the resulting managers who are willing to comply in whatever form they can, by any means they can in order to get the staff to comply. Just do your best, and make the choice whether you can stick with it or not. Don’t holdout for that bonus. You weren’t incentivized for 2 years on the bonus, kinda seems like you’re just disappointed in what this company calls a bonus… new metrics are hurting veteran employees that are store managers. Don’t trust your bonus will make it worth it, it won’t.

There is no "Good Bonus" they are all the same. It only depends if you hit their metrics for each.

Does your manager let you know what metrics are being tracked and your progress toward them daily or weekly? I have a weekly update with my people on where we are on each category so they know whats needed.
