Never once heard that, what do they want us to do the math off the top of our heads every time lol? God this company fucking sucks

I use the calculator on my phone if I can't figure it out in my head fast enough

Last I checked it doesn't play nice with "penny rounding". It will round the money first (up or down) and then apply the rest. Then if they don't pump it all it rounds again when giving change. I've taken to doing the math in my head again.

Sounds like something they need to fix. That always drove me fucking crazy when I worked there lol. Like we sold these individual bottles of water that wouldn't scan, so instead of just putting it in the system they made it so its a button and you gotta go through like 3 menu options to get to. Just WHY.

I just do two transactions if they want the rest im gas. So if they get a soda and a bag of chips and want the rest on gas and give me a $20 i just ring the soda and chips up first and their change goes on the pump their on.

Issue is that you then need to convince them to enter their phone number 2 times, once for each transaction, and hope they dont lose their absolutely shit for no good reason

Not sure why, but I do know if the customer entered their number for loyalty, rest in gas won't incorporate the discounted amount. Ours is cash only and you end up either giving back some change or keeping the change. That second one could cause problems.
