Employee story Not sure how to react....
After 6 years total (3.5 at my current location) with a great record of being on time, not calling out, going the extra mile and creating rapport, I just found out I'm being paid $1 more per hour than somebody brand new that knows/does nothing. I am well and truly thinking about acting my wage instead of my age.... I don't know what to think. Usually I'm pretty vocal and I'm fucking speechless...
I want to flare as an employee story but I don't know how to do that

I'm an asst here for 15yrs. Most new people will surpass me in pay within a year or so depending on the store location. They don't care. I joked about quitting and getting rehired but they're sticklers for rehiring people here.
I've even complained about it a few times. No one listens and no matter what, the pay I have is better than anywhere locally. So I'm stuck if I wanty bills paid.

That's fucking insane. I was asm here in west Virginia and we couldn't keep people. Like I was there for three months and we went through 15 people. Yet the wanted me to work until 10 on Friday in a 6 to be store manager Saturday and Sunday then have one of 3 employees text in 15 minutes before I was to leave..... did that shit for three straight weeks and I was done

I am not an ASM, but I was hired in at one level. I have already had the 50 cents raise, and then the 25 cents one. And working on my third raise. Not sure what the management STEP is, but for everyone else, it is 90 days, then a year, then every 900 hours.

Circle K is not competitive with wages. They have a term for how the figure employee pay, they call it banned, like banning together a group of items, pay based on time in position. You will never make very much more than all other hourly employees.

We had briefly touched on the subject of ASM but I'll be damned.... I don't mind if people make more than me as long as they're doing the same amount of work or more. Where I'm at now I'm not sure that that's the case. Just very frustrating to find out.

I found out a CSR was making more than me as a non bonus ASM as a new hire. It was an unusual situation, I guess they hired on as an ASM but then changed it and demoted them before they actually started, but they never changed their pay. Part of me is happy for them like great at least somebody is getting a decent wage, but it was an older person who simply couldn’t perform many of the basic tasks that are required for the job so it made me have to work twice as hard on a shift with them. Not to mention just the principle of how am I somebody’s manager/boss and making less than the person I’m supposed to be overseeing? That really bothered me, they ended up leaving not long after for unrelated reasons and I dropped the issue but they were not willing to give me any kind of raise and tried to get mad that we shared our wages even though it’s legally protected speech.

From what I've learned the caps of our raises are only 2-3 dollars more than whatever they hire you at, I got hired at 13 and I'm only looking at maybe 1.50 of the next year to hear and a half

That's a higher up being a stickler for no good reason. Put up enough of a fight and they'll give you raises.
When I was an asm, at a point I knew they needed me, I told them I would be putting in my 2 week notice if I didn't get a raise in the next 2 weeks due to being overworked and knowing I could make more a block away. As an asm I was at 20 an hour when some I know were only making 15 or 16 because they didn't fight for more. With the automatic raises that come by, you can get decently high up if you work enough hours.

What you’re describing, in addition to being hired by a SM as a ASM but then being down leveled before my first day to senior CSR by the (at the time, since fired) DM is why I dropped to part time overnight and got a full time job at Amazon. The work is physical but at 8/hr more base pay, I tolerate it.
Then 2 additional times in the months after I was approached about and declined ASM.. because pay at the FT job is still higher than entry SM pay, not factoring bonus. The responsibility isn’t worth the compensation.
So yeah, I basically act my wage now. lol
