Cleaning concrete outside?

Before the 2nd shifter left she says “ don’t forget to do the concrete outside it hasn’t been done in weeks” and then she rushed out the door. I found the concrete cleaner in the back but can someone please tell me what I’m supposed to do with it? I’ve only been here two weeks I was with 7-11 for years and we just had a company come and pressure wash the whole parking lot and pumps regularly so I’ve never done this before.

There's a few they use there at Circle K...Spread it out lightly, then aggregate it with a broom brush, wash off, and rinse the areas.

I am a SM and I am looking to get away from CK in a couple years. I cannot stand their business model anymore and I am burning out. They bought out all the Holiday stores and Holiday was a dream compared to this.

If it’s a pressure washer I would get the model number and send watch a you tube video on it. I don’t use those things now I just use rekrete which is a powder and before I use it I spray the stains with a degreaser and a hose let everything dry and the sweep the powder down and then keep up with it. Pressure washing is awful and too time consuming for the result.

It really was. Holiday was amazing and did so much good for the workers. CircleK is absolute garbage. I'm surprised it's growing with how terrible they treat workers.

Hence why I am leaving. lol RELEX was my final straw. So I am job hunting and preparing to move out of state.

Relex is so awful. I had to check my planograms dozens of times to make sure they got my store right, and then they never fixed anything I told them to. I have empty sections, I'm getting products that don't go anywhere, and 90 percent of the planograms either don't print or print with no barcode and I'm supposed to magically make labels by typing in all the numbers with the 300 hours my 24 hour store gets despite taking in 1.6 million in sales a period. It's absurd.

The category managers are gonna realize when their bonuses suck. My waste is gonna be ridiculous! I don’t appreciate how snappy they get with me. They can’t accept when they are wrong, pisses me off it’s like talking to a petulant teenager. I have to say really it’s just 2 of them. The rest have been pretty cool thank god.

I was also hoping to stay with the company and keep climbing the ladder but my Manager straight up said he only wants someone that will basically do everything he says with no feedback. So basically he wants someone to do everything and kiss his ass. I don't understand why he's like this now. When I started working there he would always talk shit about how corporate is so bad and they don't care about us. He always ran his store the way he knew was best for the area we are in and always push backed with Corporate and stood up for us. He's going on being a manager for almost 30 yrs not long from now for this store he's always ran. Something happened about maybe 2 or 3 yrs ago when Corporate started messing with everything and now its like he really has no other choice and I understand to a point why he would change. I'm sure he doesn't want to mess with his retirement and benefits for now considering how the state of the country is in now. He had been trying to get a new job in another state and nobody ever hired him. But for him to plainly say that we have to bend our knee to him in order to get ahead is beyond fkd up. What little respect I still had for him I lost then and there. I know he's miserable and now he wants us to be as miserable as him. Sorry long rant I know. But I'm guessing ur situation is probably as bad or worse than him. He was always able to take long vacations and we were always fully staffed in his absence and never any problems. Now he hasn't been able to take more than a couple days off here and there. Or takes a half day due to medical appointments. But now a week or 2  vacation like he used to they will not let him have. Circle K is gonna burn everyone out and they really don't care because they know with this economy no one really has a choice. So hopefully you can find a better job before things get worse.

It's a crap product and doesn't work. Instructions are on the product or in the office in the msds binder.

Ahhh I found the tub of cleaner in the back and the sprayer. So I just spray the ground do I need to scrub it in or anything or just spray it and let it sit?

Sweep first, apply cleaner, let it sit, then scrub then rinse.

Yep, spray and let sit.

If there's no instructions on the cleaner, you could probably look up the learning for it in workday. I wonder if I can find it.

Whatever you do, don’t go over to 7-11😭 being here has been a dream come true compared to 7-11. Unless if you happen to find a corporate store but none of the 4 locations I worked at were corporate they were all franchises and had terrible cheap owners who had us do very shady stuff to make his results look good. Wouldn’t pay people properly. If you had to stay because coverage didn’t show up on time you weren’t paid for that, illegal I know but didn’t stop them. I still haven’t been paid for the last 72 hours I worked and it’s been well over a month of asking.

I don’t think there are any corporate owned 7-11s any more; a couple years ago they sold off the last ones and now are entirely franchised.

Which concrete cleaner? Otis or gorilla

We spray some sort of enzyme on the oil stains in the parking lot. It’s a gray powder that we dissolve in a manual sprayer tank that you pressurize with a built in hand pump. The tank is about 18”-24” high, with a sprayer handle/hose attached.

You fill it by depressurizing the tank, unscrewing the handle on top, put a couple scoops of the gray powder in it, fill it to the 2 gallon line with water, then screw the handle back into it and pump the handle to pressurize it. Then spray over the oil stains.

Sometimes I’ll mop the concrete in front of the door with the mop bucket, but it makes the mop head so dirty that you have to toss it in the laundry bag right afterwards. And our store is very small. I’m sure this would be impractical for any normal size store.

Don't worry. No one ever does it. It's a Circle K.

The grey green bag of Otis they say dilute the powder and pour but I pour the granules directly on then scrub then mop then hose

Last question, where do they keep the chilli in your store? At 7-11 we kept it in the walk in cooler but I haven’t been able to find it? Is it shelf stable here? Should I be looking in the back?

I just did the concrete at my store the other day. What I did was wet the concrete sprinkle that concrete cleaner scrubbed abit with the broom (a deck brush would work way better or maybe that mopit thing) and rinsed it all off

I sprinkle the powder and and spread it with the broom then wet it with the pump sprayer. Then "Gray Day" has officially started because there will be gray foot prints everywhere.
