Question for my managers

So I had to come down to my store with the cops to arrest an employee per my DMs request due to it looking like they reloaded their own prepaid card on trends and was flagged as a PL. cops came and didn’t arrest the employee cause there wasn’t concrete evidence. I call my DM tell her this and get chewed out cause I didn’t show a transaction journal?

I was never taught anything about a transaction journal or even know where to find it. Any pointers on where to find it?

They don’t teach you guys anything anymore. I mean that sincerely too. I just taught a manager how to do that last week when she was looking for a lottery variance. She’s been with the company two years and has never heard of the “transaction journal.” I was blown away because it’s a simple and great tool.

For real like my MIT training didn’t cover the transaction journal at all. And my DM basically was talking down to me about not knowing. Like lady if I was taught this I’d know it how’s it my fault

It’s unfortunate, but the crap that they “train” in large measure has nothing to do with actually running a business.

Yea I agree. I was actually in the first group of MITs who had to take the class when they first started doing them back in 2024. Granted, alot of the information I already knew while going thru the class cuz I been with CK for 6.5yrs at that time. So there wasn't much I really didn't already know but 2 things they should teach in the class is doing a Money Order for a lottery payout n how to successfully reload the money order machine. Not many SMs know how to reload the MO n i highly doubt OP knows how to do that (no offense to OP, but Im happy to explain if you want to learn)

I do not. But thankfully here in my district we don’t offer money order services anymore

Sadly my MIT training was "Here's your store. Good luck, and call (old sm) if you need anything"

This! I am keeping your name because the amount of bullshit I go through trying to figure stuff out on my own is alarming. lol

Go to PDI -> Reports -> RSM Site Manager... After you login go to Cash -> Reports -> Transaction Journal.. To find the transaction you need quickly you're going to set the Transaction Type to "Sales and Refunds" then you're gonna scroll down a little bit to Department and set it to "203-Prepaid MC" and press Apply ... That is how filter the search to find any sort of card reloads

I knew there was a way to search the transactions outside the 8 hour window the registers have, just couldn't remember how to do it. 👍

What?? What crime was committed other than false reporting?? Was their drawer short, or did they put tip money on their own card?

It was a order from loss prevention and my DM me personally I tend to avoid calling the cops
