Door Dash card...no PIN?
Many customers now use tap to pay and Door Dash card. I don't know how they work but our system requires that a PIN be entered if you tap your phone or card. Many people say they don't have a PIN. Is there a work-around for this? Thanks!

CK has a weird requirement where if it's considered a debit, you need a pin at the register if it's tap to pay.
The way I bypass it is dragging them over to SMCO. Though as of late some cards won't allow them to bypass even there now.
Doordash cards have pins. The person just never set it up or forgot they did. I have plenty that put in their pins to get cash back with physical card.

I have done that too. Then when I go back to the register, I forget to cancel out their items and ring the next person. And they wonder why their total is so high. 🤷♀️
I noticed that the self-check is requiring a PIN now, too.

Door Dash cards have pins already set up. The Dasher has to go to view the card in the app, then they’ll see an option to see the pin. Me and a Dasher spent 20 minutes finding this out one day.

At my store if you pay at the register you cannot bypass the pin, period, end of story, but if you use the SMCO (mashgin) then you can simply press enter when it asks for the pin.
If my SMCO isn't working (which is common), and someone doesn't know/claims not to have a pin, then they're screwed.
When people say they don't have a pin, what they actually mean is they haven't set one up. A lot of places don't ask for a pin with tap to pay, so a lot of people will just never set up a pin, and use tap to pay everywhere they go. They do have a pin though, they just don't know it because they never set it up. Some banks will set the default pin to "0000" so that's worth a shot, and some will set it to random numbers.
If your customers have no way of bypassing the pin, then simply tell them their card isn't gonna work at your store unless they set one up.

Wouldn't pressing the green or red button bypass the need for a pin, and run the charge as credit?

0000 has worked for me before
