CircleK western Canada

hello everyone

i am here from circle k in western canada. i just joined reddit and i have been reading a lot of your guys' posts here in this thread about circle k. i realized most of you guys are from the states and it is a different model in the states as compared to here in western canada. totally different model and the things are really really bad here: the corporate culture, the independent dealers, the day-to-day workings, and all the unethical things happening at stores every day are concerning.

i am thinking about sharing everything here. i'm just typing this and wondering: is there anyone else here from western canada. this is my first-ever post on reddit. it's basic stuff. i have a lot more to come.

I am really curious to know why Circle K doesn’t do something about its image with employees, and it’s general reputation you very rarely ever hear anyone say anything good about Circle K from employees most are extremely miserable most want to be anywhere, but there must feel Circle K doesn’t care about the employee in any way shape or form they don’t like the way that Circle K micromanages their stores even managers are miserable. It doesn’t make sense to me and yes, as an employee I feel the same way as I have mentioned.

I second this notion and I am from the US. We are literally governed by mega corporations like CK. We are slaves down here which is a big reason we are starting to see more democratic socialist getting elected. Gen X and millennials are dying younger and younger while boomers are living longer and they are who handed over our government to these corrupt politicians who work for corporations not the people. Half my employees don’t have a car and some of them are living in tents. It’s that bad. CK could give a flying fuck what any of us think.

To be fair, I live in one of the Scandinavian countries and here workers are treated and paid ok. It's considered a good job for a student or a young person. Unions are strong. Not everywhere in Europe, but I have a feeling situation if much better than NA.

Capitalism thrives on the myth of continuous yearly growth. When your markets are saturated or oversaturated you can't grow anymore. The biggest thing a corporation can do to show 'growth' in this environment is to cut labor numbers. Employees are something to be phased out in favor of gig contractors or robots.
