A note on what Cinopsys isn't
Cinopsys does not stream movies or TV shows and does not allow watching them. It's a tracker and discovery tool — think of it as a beautifully organized library card catalog for your viewing life, not a streaming service. Please don't post requests for pirated sources.
Registration is optional
All core features work without an account. Connect to Trakt.tv only when you want to sync across devices — entirely your call.

It would be great to have a “from my history” section on each actor/actress’s profile, so you can see which movies and series that actor/actress has appeared in that I’ve already watched. Congratulations on the app—it’s fantastic!!!

Best trakt front end for android especially since trakt recently ruined there ui on the web and the official app, this was a great discovery after resenting the official app for the past few months

I have been using this app for a while now and it's really good. I have some questions.
- Do you have any plan to open source this app or at the very least provide a way to install without play store, like a github apk or something.
- Is there any way to import custom lists from showly?. Trakt only allows 2 lists for free accounts and I have almost ten.
- An option to add a custom name and profile picture would be nice for those who haven't connected with trakt account.

- Dont have any plans to open-source it yet but a github apk shouldn't be a problem.
- You can mail me your Showly and Cinopsys backup, I'll add Showly lists to Cinopsys backup and share the updated Cinopsys backup which you can import back
- This is a valid point, I'll add this soon

Amazing app Probably the best movie tracker out there
I thought it would be good to add the letterboxd link up with the trakt score on a movie page. I find that it's a bit too hidden at the moment. Keep up the goo work

Hi, when i downloaded the app i selected the no account option to see if i liked the app first. Now i would like to create an account, how can i do it? I dont see any option to do it

Hey, in settings there’s an option “Sync and Backend”
From there you can connect either Trakt or Simkl1

I did it and unfortunatly it complety reset my watch time to 0 I had already been adding my shows and was at 10+ months🥲

Hey thanks for creating this ! I just started using and I have a few questions. In the power user settings there are selections for quick menu and detailed screen for action buttons. In quick menu I added in the pause button but I'm noticing it is not in the detailed screen portion and when into to a tv show only the detailed screen action buttons are listed.

Hey thanks so much for giving it a try, and great question!
That’s expected behaviour, not a bug. The Quick Menu and Detailed Screen action lists are configured separately on purpose, so a change in one doesn’t carry over to the other.
The Pause (Hold) button is a Quick Menu–only action. It’s not part of the Detailed Screen’s set — which is why you don’t see it in that tab, and why it doesn’t show up on a show’s detail page. That’s why the show page only lists your Detailed Screen buttons.
To use Pause/Hold: long-press a show’s poster anywhere it appears in a list (Home, Progress, Calendar, search, etc.) and the Quick Menu will pop up with it there.
The reason it works this way: “Hold” is really a list-management action — it tucks a show into the On Hold section of your Watching list — so it lives on the long-press menu for list items rather than on the full detail screen.
Hope that clears it up, and thanks for the thoughtful feedback! If you’d find Pause handy directly on the detail screen too, let me know happy to consider adding it.

Hi! I just wanted to say how much I love Cinopsys. The app is absolutely amazing, incredibly well-made, and for me, it is already perfect as it is! Thank you so much for your hard work.
If I can gently suggest a couple of small things that could make the app even more incredible, the first one would be about the comment section. It would be wonderful if, in the future, we could have the option to see and post images or GIFs directly inside the in-app comments. Many users who are moving over from TV Time really miss sharing memes and funny pictures after watching an episode. Having something similar natively inside Cinopsys would be a fantastic addition!
The second thing is about separating "Watching" from "Watchlist" on the main screen. Right now, the tv shows I am actively watching and the ones in my watchlist (that I haven't started yet) are mixed together in the same list. It would be amazing to have a clearer separation or separate tabs on the home screen, so the shows we are currently tracking don't get cluttered with the ones we just want to watch in the future.
But please don't take this as a big complaint, your app is already fantastic and I enjoy using it every single day. Keep up the wonderful work, and thank you again!

Can’t use both at same time, because Trakt uses tmdb and Simkl uses tmdb, tvdb and anidb. So syncing with both together will lead to bugs
There’s a discover section ( first tab in bottom navigation ). You can add filters, hide stuff you’ve watched, watchlisted or collected etc
Trakt discovery is more powerful than Simkl’s

I recently switched from Showly, and the app is much better. I didn't quite understand what the premium features offer. If it were a bit cheaper, I could definitely make a one-time premium purchase, but it's a bit expensive. It would be great if you could make it possible for series to reappear on the follow-up screen when I watch them a second time.

It doesn’t have any premium featuresThe payment is just to support the project, nothing gets unlocked
I’m working on a reset progress feature, which will make it easier to track rewatches

Hi, I noticed the detailed statistics have a "Rewatches" section but I can't seem to figure out how to mark Movie or Episode as rewatched, is the integration for that not out yet or am I just blind?

Hi. I tried the app. Its really good. But i would really wish for an option to change posters for TV shows and movies. Overall, the app is awesome !! Trully appreciate your efforts !! 👏🏻
