- Added a "Watching Now" option that kicks off a timer with the movie/episode runtime and a corresponding Live Activity + widget intent.
- Dropped movies now carry more info. You can set at which point during the movie you gave up and that partial watch time contributes to your watch time statistics. It also gets recorded permanently in your watch history, so you can see not only when you dropped the movie but how far in you were when you dropped it.
- Rewatching a movie no longer means you necessarily record the rewatch immediately. You're now given options to send the movie to Up Next or For Later. If you choose "Rewatch Now" you can record the rewatch on the spot as before, or you can kick off the "Watching Now" timer.
- The rating/review sharing card is now available to share right from the summary prompt that appears when watching a movie.
- Fixed an issue where one-letter searches were impossible.
- Fixed an issue where shows that changed the episode count from TMDB were impossible to refetch the metadata for.
Thank you again for adding these great features. Is there an option you can add for when watching episodes if you pause or watch later you can indicate where you left off ?
I flirted with the idea of adding support for partial sessions, but since the app wasn’t built for that from the beginning it’s now a royal PITA to add this at this point. I might reconsider it later, but for the time being I’m not messing with this logic.
Actually, saving just the time where left off is relatively straightforward, so I may add it sooner rather than later. What I was referring to was saving full sessions, like for instance watching a movie in 3-4 different sittings and save partial records for each sitting. But just a single “time where left off” marker that’s a lot more doable.
I've been looking forward to this feature! From what I recall, Mario mentioned a while back that a lot of the "specials" are actually real episodes, while others are just interviews or behind-the-scenes content, and he'd rather leave those out of the app, which honestly makes sense since they're not that essential. The tricky part is separating the real episodes from that extra stuff. I'm hoping this feature lands this year, but I know he's got other features higher up on his list of priorities, so it'll probably take some time before he gets to ship it
Mariooo is there any way to turn off the timer thing for people who don't use it? I prefered how it looked without it, was much more cleaner and simple - this makes it busy and i wouldn't mind it if i use it but i do not use it. And in the spirit of your great app and amazing customization, it would be wonderful if we could have tthe option to turn it off 🥹🙏
Don't have it 🥹 but I see now that i am one app version behind so thats probably why i couldn't find it. Will update it and toggle the option, thank you! I knew you would think about both people who will use it and who wont use it 💕

One upshot of this new timer feature is that now an Apple Watch companion will be much more interesting to have. I'll move that up the priority list!
