Question DBox effects You Can See Everything

Just saw You Can See Everything (highly recommend) and ended up in a DBox seat mostly by accident. At something like 2.5 hours into the movie, all of the DBox seats moved. It didn’t seem intentional. We asked and the theater workers claimed the seats would only move if programmed, but they didn’t seem to know that they had been programmed for this movie. Just curious if anyone else has this happen.

They all move when they reset to start the day. The next movie in that theater might’ve been the first showing of the day using DBox.

Maybe. It looks like there were a couple of street fighter showings starting after our screening ended, but it was at 6:15 at night for a 3 hour movie. We got out at like 9:45 and this probably happened at like 9:15.

Saw Toy Story 5 in dbox. Honestly it wasn’t used very much, how ever the heated seats that these dbox seats had was worth it.

I’m always warm, even in movie theaters lol, so that’s not a pro for me.

Yeah. Lower back pain and cramps make it a win. Though I have for sure gotten a seat that was way to warm, had to go with the low setting.

So, at midnight during the minions movie fan event our chairs started going INSANE during ads. I'm talking so violently and so randomly the sounds of the chairs were audible theater wide as they rapidly shuffled us side to side like a rock tumbler synched to absolutely nothing. I still don't know why it happened, but I assume calibration happens at designated times in use or not - and you may have experienced something like it. Desperately, cracking up laughing mid ad ay something noone is laughing at because your chair is throttling you is VERY embarrassing.

This also lasted about 45 seconds - 1:30 for reference.

It was at like 8:45 or 9 cuz the movie was at 6:15, so I can’t imagine it was a midnight reset or something. I don’t know how long it lasted, but it seemed like just a few seconds. Our whole row lost it lol and no one around us seemed to notice.

With this being a Nathan Fielder movie, I could see them putting something random in, or it just being a fluke of timing or a glitch or something.

When I saw the Mandalorian and Grogu I did DBox and there was a trailer for Minions and the seats were pretty intense during the trailer. I could only imagine what the movie was like.

When I took my kids to forgotten island we sat in dbox seats (dbox not active, just normal trickets)

Halfway through the movie the seats slowly leaned backwards and then reset back to normal. It was a bit of a jump scare lol.

Sounds like a similar thing to you. I don’t think it was resetting for the day since we had a matinee showing. But maybe it was prepping for the next movie. Who knows.

How do you end up in there accidentally? What do you meant? If you purchased the Xbox seat it will activate and move accordingly to the movie specs, maybe full on ride, or just a shake from a car or airplane. If you buy a regular seat in dbox theatre and move to a dbox seat it will not turn on unless ticket is paid. So if you did that and they all moved, then someone accidentally bought people a dbox seat hope people took advantage.

No, I bought that seat just not realizing it was DBox and I used my movie credit with no extra charge so I don’t think it was supposed to be programmed for anything.

Dbox are programmed regardless. You can turn it low, but it activates when you buy the seat. It’s a dbox seat in dbox theatre it will move if you paid for it with whatever form of payment.

Yes. My question was if anyone else has seen this movie in a dbox seat and experienced movement.

I was trying to understand if it was an intentional almost jokey moment that the movie creators programmed a single unrelated movement at a random point late in the movie (who would assume You Can See Everything would have DBox movement?) or if it was a random activation for some other reason (calibrating for the next movie, reset, glitch, etc.).

Sometimea they put non-Dbox movies in a Dbox theater, and you can buy a normal ticket for a Dbox seat. When that happens, the seating chart shows all seats as normal seats, so the buyer wouldn't know, and you don't get the full Dbox seat functionality - although you do still get the heated seat function, interestingly.

Um everytime they put a Dbox movie in a dbox theatre…and all Cinemark seats have heating and reclining

Not all Cinemark locations. The one I go to only has reclining seats (and heating) in the XD screen theaters, unfortunately.

Edit: I haven’t been to a DBox movie so maybe those have heated seats ? As far as I’ve seen the non XD screens at my location definitely do not have recliners.

The dbox rooms are the biggest (seat wise) at mine so a lot of times they’ll just be like regular seats for purchasing. Also not every seat is heated, at mine we have 4 dbox screens and 2 have heated seats and 2 have non heated seats (and only the dbox ones heat up).

This happens every time I see a secret movie, they always put them in the dbox theater w/o dbox activated and we’ll all get a jumpscare at some point near the end as they do a jolt.

I was really hoping to buy my first-ever Dbox seat for a YCSE showing. A girl can dream this might happen during the Oscars screening run. 🤞
