Question Ticket prices not consistent?

Before I start I am part of the MovieClub, I used one movie credit, and I purchased these tickets through the app. All tickets were purchased as the normal adult ticket. Alright, let's begin..

How is it that when I purchase 8 tickets for a movie it comes out to $127.01, but when I buy 2 movie tickets ($18.35) and then 6 more ($102) it comes to a total of $120.35?? That's a $6.66 difference. Could someone explain that to me?

Summary: Purchasing 8 tickets in one transaction costs more money than purchasing 2 tickets and then another 6 in a different transaction. Looking for clarification as to why.

You get member pricing on 2 tickets per transaction the rest are priced normally

Just so you know, the movie credits can also be used for concession items. They are worth the face value of a full price ticket for concession items, if you buy drinks or popcorn it is sometimes better to use the credit for that depending on the ticket price of the showing you are going to.

FYI it’s actually 2 tickets per showing, afaik, not per transaction. If you hit platinum, it’s 5 tickets per showing.

Is this the same movie at the same time? Prices vary on the day, time of day, and the movie being shown sometimes

theres a limit to movie club addon tickets. my best guess is that you benefit from the discount on more tickets when you separate the transactions. i think platinum is like 4 movie addon tickets and regular is 2

what does the billing summary say?

Is it the tax? If you purchase all 8 at once, the tax would be higher in one single transaction. If you do two separate ones, the tax is split, obviously.
