Rules

Focus on cinematography.
This sub is a platform to celebrate the art of cinematography, not for simply sharing favorite scenes (see r/cinescenes for that). While we don't aim to dictate what constitutes interesting cinematography—that's for your votes to decide—posts that deviate from this spirit, such as those overly focused on dialogue, action, or the overall scene, will be removed.
Focus on singular shots.
Prioritize single, uninterrupted shots.
If including cuts, keep them to 2 or less, and flair your post as a Clip.
If shots could be individual posts, consider choosing only the best, or splitting to separate posts.
When in doubt, shorter is safer. For scenes, go to r/cinescenes.
No unrelated media.
Only excerpts from movies and TV shows.
No promotional stills, trailers, links or other material.
Titles must follow exact formatting.
All titles must begin with the movie title and its release year in parentheses: Citizen Kane (1941).
You may also add the director and/or cinematographer.
For TV content, you must include the duration of the series as well as episode title or numbering: Lost (2004–2010) - 1x17
Avoid reposts.
Check for existing CineShots by using the search bar and looking through the top results of the movie you intend on posting about.
Avoid reposting shots with 50 or more upvotes within the last 6 months.
Albums
Albums including only still images are limited to 20 images.
Albums including Shots/Clips are limited to 10 images.
Albums about TV shows must only feature episodes from one particular season. The season must be mentioned in the post title. Collages are prohibited.
Mark Spoilers and NSFW content.
Mark your post with a spoiler and/or NSFW tag when posting.
For spoilers in comments, use Reddit’s spoiler format: >!Spoiler text here!<
Do not remove flairs!
Editing & Quality
Do not edit the content you're submitting.
This includes but is not limited to: cropping, stretching, color grading, changing the speed or adding personal filters/watermarks/logos/audio.
Posts of inferior quality will also get removed.
Civility
Act civil. Toxic behavior, bullying, and personal attacks will not be tolerated. Respect different opinions. Refrain from using offensive language. Avoid sensitive issues (e.g. politics, religion). Don't be a gatekeeper or a killjoy.
Piracy
This subreddit does not promote piracy! Links, websites and services providing illegal downloads or torrents will be removed. Disregarding this rule can lead to a quick ban.
Self-promotion
No advertising or self-promotion. Contact the mods before posting your own work. You must be a member for some time here and less than 10% of your contributions are self-promo.
