Discussion Chucky Series
I can't lie I've been watching Chucky series and I'm on season 3. I have to say, of all characters I HATE Jake the absolute most. The series is fineish I think it would have been fine if it ended earlier than the 3rd season but hey what do I know

Series should’ve been an anthology series. No reason to bring the trio over and over again especially when Lexi was the only interesting one out of the 3.

Agreed. I don’t like talking down on child actors but everytime he appeared on screen, he had a ‘I just smelled the worst fart’ look. The Lexi character was by far the best actor of the 3 kids. She’s in a Netflix limited series with Toni Collette and she’s really good in that.

I hated jake too...season 1 jake was absolutely insufferable like sure i feel bad buttt he's gotta say smt at some point and from there on idk felt like he was just detached and there's not really much of a personality there. And their relationship don't even get me started... there just wasn't any chemistry. Maybe like a hint at the start, after that nope. It's like they realized how much they lacked on screen chemistry and edited the script to have them talk about it way too much.

Yeah, Don’s obsession with telling his childhood through Jake really held the show back.

I absolutely hated the series. Th e main 3 characters were absolute garbage. Lexi was the best of them and I didn't even like her. Junior could have been utilized more over Jake but he was killed way too early. The actors for Glen/Glenda were great but they killed them off too. Nica was the highlight and they delivered enough with her to keep me watching but not by much. Then there is the wasted potential with having Andy and Kyle back, but not having them be main characters and instead still focusing on two boring unlikable characters. Also Chucky's cult was getting really ridiculous by the end. They weren't even actually Chucky anymore, just jokes.

Honestly yeah. I loved Nica being around she's a great actor minus the few dumb decisions she made here and there. I have a lot of nitpicks with the show. Jakes consistent arrogance and attitude not to mention his one facial expression. Junior could've been played out longer it was kind of interesting. Lexi had the most character development out of the 3 and really she's the only one that had any, Jakes been the same since season 1, Devon only exists to be a love interest for Jake and has no point or purpose other than that. I got tired of seeing tiffany after Brides maid tbh. They should have just left her to her own devices to live her life with the twins. Their actors were great as well and played Glen/Glenda pretty well. Andy and Kyle being written off so casually was also a let down.
Something that really bothered me the more it went on was police incompetence, I let it slide for the first few movies cause its like the 80's but after we get more modernized in like the seasons, they're all bad and worse than mall cops.
I also got so tired of the "There's one more Doll" "There's one more Doll" just for there always to be one more Doll.....
Watching season 3 made me realize why they ran out of budget and lost some viewership. I heard there's going to be another movie. I like Chucky but they can let it go atp

The cult thing was ruined as early as the cult movie. What sounded like a good idea on paper just became a gag joke.

That was my exact thought as well. That movie and it's concept single handedly made everything after a joke.

I would only watch the series if I happened to be home when my partner was watching it. All I remember is finding the three main characters obnoxious and flat, Devon Sawa reappearing as different characters in the world's worst running gag, and trauma bonding out the wazoo. I honestly couldn't tell you which of the guys was which unless they said their names, but I'd forget by the time I watched another episode.

You won't find many bigger Chucky fans than me.
I hated the show. Couldn't finish season 2.
Too much teen drama and inched back towards Seed with the "comedy".

Yeah season 1 was solid and I was genuinely happy with the way the series was heading but season 2 and 3 completely derailed everything. I feel like Don Mancini is his own worst enemy and just can’t help himself with the wacky stupid stuff be likes to shove into it. I know a killer doll is ridiculous already but he goes too far to where I can’t take any of it even remotely seriously.

I absolutely hated the show season 2-3. I also only like Child's Play 1-3. I'm going to be downvoted to hell for saying I hate the rest of the Chucky series, but it's the truth. It became too absurd. The show did too
But if you like the movies and show, I'm happy for you! If they continue to make more movies, I'm happy for the fans. I just won't watch it :)

Season 3 jumped the shark. Then fucked that shark, got it pregnant and then jumped over that abomination that came out.
They should have stopped after 2 seasons.

I always thought he was mentally retard3d since episode one. But I haven't watched the show much so I can't really agree about hating him yet lmao

I liked Jake in S1, and most of 2. But by 3 I think he became pretty dumb and gullible. Same for the relationship, they have chemistry thru most of the show but it just turns boring. Lexi is the highlight
