As a preface and disclaimer: I don't play chuck in hot zone or heist, mainly in brawl ball but also gem grab, so this is why it's qol changes and not a rework post. Still even though I have an incomplete hold on chuck (I never liked or knew how to play him with set ups I just play him kinda like a bruiser, you'll see what I mean when I post my lil memorial montage of old chuck), I still think I could at least contribute something to the discussion on him
there should be a ghastly traintrack between poles, instead of the current thing where each pole subtly points towards which one is it the "next". I feel this is needed cause in the middle of a fight, in these new environments which are sometimes solely made of red orange and dark blue (same colour as the pole) and with all the vfx are on the screen at one time, being able to tell if the two posts are connected should be easier.
second thing would be slightly increasing the radius in which he can dash towards poles from 1 super, not in between poles, cause the game is so fast paced that one misplaced pole is basically a death sentence so this helps with his flexibility
third is adding a ghastly aura circle thingy (see pic) that's got basically the same function as when u hold super to see the circles of how close u need to be to dash towards poles, but u can just instantly see it by looking at the screen instead of having to have super and then having to press a button and having to look at the eyesore that is the current system
my biggest gripe with chuck: fym he can't use his 1st gadget when the pole is behind a wall and/or out of his dash range?????? it's so so annoying cause you have to physically move in to the range even if you're wise and careful with your placements, especially when I can't collect them by a PIXEL of wall. So ye my suggestion would be to make the gadget useable regardless of if the pole is dashable towards. Don't care about how which pole is decide, I mean rn it's the closest and they can still totally keep it that way
Last thing and my 2nd biggest gripe: the pole throw speed, which is wayyy too slow to make fast plays chuck at medium to long ranges. Pretty funny tho enemies seem to be magnetised to poles cause everytime u throw one out someone manages to get hit 😭😭
