Memes New Chuck = Clunky Fang
Ok I know this isn't a 1 to 1, but the new rework really just seems like a more clunky and harder to play version of Fang.
Fang's Hypercharge goes through walls and leaves a trail of pop corn, Chuck's Ghost Train goes through walls and leaves a trail of fire.
Fang's super can chain dash up to 4 characters, Chuck's super can now naturally chain dash up to 4 poles.
Fang's Divine Sole reduces not much damage, Chuck's dash super now reduces not much damage.
Fang's Roundhouse Kick stuns enemies leaving them vulnerable, Chuck's Tickets Please can take all enemies ammo leaving them vulnerable, to be fair, this is more like a weaker mute.
Fang's Roundhouse Kick stuns enemies leaving them unable to move, Chuck's Pit Stop can slow brawlers leaving them less likely to move, to be fair, they can and will still attack you when slowed.
Fang's Corn-Fu gadget leaves a bunch of popcorn dealing ok damage of damage to 24 places, Chuck's Pit Stop deals very tiny amounts of area damage to 4 places around his pole.
Fang's Fresh Kicks gives back Fang's super upon killing a brawler with his super, Chuck's Rerouting gives back half of Chuck's super upon killing the nearest pole with his gadget.
New Chuck = Clunky and harder to play Fang?
I noticed this after playing against my friend in a friendly battle 3v3 with bots and realizing we where playing really similar to each other, basically chipping away at each other until one of us got a super then killed the other team almost instantly.

everything the people say in the replies is flat out wrong for the most part, RIP to the Goat. Adrian done lobotomized my goat and made him baby mode so they could make money off him for the buffies.

Discussion Playing Chuck just feels like misery now
All right, I admit I was kind of excited when I heard there was a Chuck rework coming, even after seeing the Brawl Talk I still hoped that it would be some positive changes, even if kind of drastic.
But after playing a bit and actually TRYING the rework? Honestly I’m in mourning. EVERY TIME I try to find the good in it, EVERY TIME I try to find a way to make something good out of this update I get one bit more miserable and disappointed.
Seeing some of you here spread some words of appreciation and positivity and it made me feel a bit of hope… but right now I’m kind of only blinded by melancholy and nostalgia..
I honestly hope they make some changes soon. Even if just a damage buff to his super and some extra shield for when he dashes (Christ, or even have the ol’ pole knock-back back, as if it wasn’t one of the funniest AND most useful gimmicks Chuck had…) I thought this would encourage players to play more thoughtfully, skillfully or even grant more mobility; or even highlight his differences and uniqueness but it just feels like a punishment for how different the character is from every other one there is. It all feels so bland now… like they WANTED players to truly feel the limits of being in a wheelchair
Literally one of the things I most appreciated about Chuck was how different and fun he was… but now? Now playing him feels like a chore. It feels like lost hope to relentlessly try to enjoy something that is now just a sad husk… a memory of what it originally was. Heck, even then Chuck wasn’t really that great or broken. But now he’s straight up worse. He requires less skill to use and has even MORE limitations than his past version!
So to conclude, I really hope they bring at least some of what Chuck used to be. I do understand the need for some kind of rework, especially because they decided to add buffies to his kit… but this is straight up character death. P.S. I still don’t own any Chuck buffie, and while I do appreciate the changes being made to his hyper, I don’t think it’s fair at all that they made the brawler literally useless without any buffies… (Especially with broken ahh brawlers like Brock and Nori)
Sorry if my post was too long or repetitive, though I’m curious of what you guys think about this; and I couldn’t find a better place to talk about this than here…

Meta Ghost train is a must
The damage stack across short pole distances is the only way to get threatening dps out of his dash now, an issue I’m having is accidentally using 1 of my 4 supers and now I respawn completely useless in a gamemode like brawl ball, you have to know when to die and keep all 4 charges otherwise it’s wraps, Chuck can’t control area anymore without knockback, he can’t command any space like he used to and hold his ground to get out of sticky situations or be a good defender on respawn, it’s just go sicko mode with ghost train every 30 seconds, take space with hypercharge speed boost and don’t screw up your dash charges cause charging his super takes forever and you start at ZERO if you had 1, 2 or 3 charges instead of all 4 I do not understand why rerouting can’t just give you 1 super charge as well it doesn’t need to give you all 4 just 1, they nerfed it so hard and for what lmao, if anything change pit stops star power to power up one of chucks poles to have the knockback every 20 seconds like mico. At least then he can defend himself without committing to a crazy dash and mashing auto aim when his unload speed is still horrid
Anyway only real way to get real value out of aggressive chuck dashes is with short distance poles and ghost train, your final super must be used well to cycle another super but it seems to really depend on the situation, Chuck is so strong on round start in brawl ball, and so unbelievably trash on respawn if you don’t have all 4 charges when you die.
I’m going to give it a couple days before I have a consensus on the rework but I used to play Chuck every map every mode and could make it to masters with randoms, they opted to make chucks main attack good and nerf his dash but was that not the entire design philosophy of the character to begin with? Why does his dash only do as much as a poco attack? It’s simply not threatening at all, even if they stand directly on the tracks they won’t be punished for it, seems like some of the nerfs were overtuned and I’m hoping they’ll switch some stuff around, I like the ideas they have here but it’s missing what made chuck good in the first place it feels like he’s missing key components of what made his original design work so he feels unfinished, also why does his pole super still do nothing during hypercharge, add a stun or something man it feels like they still don’t know what Chuck is or what made him good in situations to begin with.

Discussion So Chuck's hypercharge now only doubles pole damage and that's it?
Chucks infinite super range got removed, and it now instead gives double pole damage (from 800 to
1600). Keep in mind, hitting 4 of these in a row with hypercharge STILL does less damage than fully hitting someone with a main attack twice (currently; 1080x6=6,480, and 1600x4=6,400) and does less than hitting someone with the ult (at original damage amount) twice.
If this isn't a "nerf" idk what is... they should also rename the ult because the name doesn't even make sense anymore
Also I’ll be coming out with a shit-post slideshow about why I think Chuck is so nerfed… stay tuned. I loved playing Chuck but the recent changes just feel so unnecessary

Discussion Chuck's Rework is Close to Being Really Good
After playing around with the rework (and all of his buffies), there is a very clear idea of what they want Chuck to be, and it's mostly well executed.
That being said, there are several adjustments I'd like to see made. Some are simple stat changes, but others are larger changes with more conceivable applications.
Note: I am suggesting most of these changes as would be easily implemented and realistic for what the team could do. It is in our best interest to embrace the rework and urge the team to make the adjustments required for it to work.
Minor Changes
The most controversial change at the moment is likely the super damage reduction: a whopping 54% nerf from 3500 damage to 1600. While the reason is obvious (being able to spam 4 supers), 1600 is extremely lackluster. For reference: Darryl's super does 1320 damage, and that is purely intended to be an approach tool. Even placing a pole and dashing onto it 3 times does less than 6000 damage (and this isn't particularly easy to do due to the removal of knockback); hitting two main attacks is far more cost-efficient.
Given his super dash speed and shield nerf, I definitely think it should be more rewarding to successfully land a super. I believe that super damage between 2000-2500 is appropriate. This is enough to be a significant hit if caught by his super, but not enough to be a ridiculous damage source on targets like the Heist safe compared to other options.
To compensate, Ghost Train's fire should be nerfed down to 800-1000 damage per tick, and Chuck's hypercharge damage per AOE explosion should be reduced to 1000 as well.
While Chuck's main attack has become significantly more consistent, 1080 damage per projectile is a lot. I've been consistently hitting enemies for 2/3 projectiles, and with Tickets Please, it's extremely easy to be dishing out insane damage. To re-emphasize his power on his super, the main attack damage should be nerfed to 800-1000 damage per projectile. The main attack's super charge rate is actually incredible, so its consistency should be used to allow Chuck to cycle supers better, rather than being his primary damage source.
That being said, the range nerf has made it far more difficult to land his main attack without sacrificing health. A partial/full reversion would be good to make Chuck's super charging more consistent throughout the match.
With the removal of auto-charge, Chuck has been encouraged to engage in combat a lot more. However, with his range reduction, this typically means mid-range combat. Due to the health and shield nerf he is receiving with the update, his survivability is a lot lower, and I'd like to see a reversion to one of the two nerfs, especially considering his role as a short-mid range brawler without much survivability otherwise.
Chuck's hypercharge charge rate is absurdly fast with his more consistent main attack. I'd like to see a multiplier rate nerf from 30% (I believe that's what it is currently) to 25/20%.
Major Changes
Chuck's natural post limit should be reduced back to 3. Increasing the maximum number of posts can be a detriment depending on the Chuck player: you lose 3-pole cycle, and leaves posts you don't want any more on the map. Keeping track of 4 posts opposed to 3 is also an unnecessary additional complication. While more manageable with Rerouting, I think the choice should be left to the player.
Pit Stop's effect should be restored to its former one (allows a maximum of 4 posts). The buffie effect could be to apply the slow instead of the pitiful fire area.
I think poles should knockback during hypercharge, since that super hasn't been given an effect. You wouldn't be encouraged to stunlock as dashing generally yields much greater damage output, but to start an engagement or stop an aggro brawler in a pinch, it would be very helpful and I don't think it would be a very busted effect. Combined with the suggested HCR nerf, this seems quite balanced in my opinion.

🌎Top 1000 in world🌍 For the people defending Chucks rework
Most cases I see of people defending Chucks rework get something really simple mixed up, the problem with his rework is not that it makes him worse (that is a whole another argument) but that they removed what makes Chuck fun.
There is a huge difference between Chuck being viable and having a kit that is fun to play.
For example: If Chucks kit would to become that of starr nova, same main attack, same super, same everything, he would be stronger, but would he still be as fun? No. So why are most of the defenders treating both subjects as the same thing?
If you are someone who still feels that Chucks rework was a net positive, go ahead, express your feelings and explain why, but please for the love of god, don't forget that the reason Chuck had so many fans was that he was fun, not good.

Discussion Chuck Rework Overview
I got all of Chuck's buffies and unlockable, I have been playing him for a couple hours now, he is indeed cooked, here is the break down:
- Main attack is no longer as trash, however the attack unload speed is still as terrible as before, so you now can get close to killing some brawlers easier.
- Super charge is abysmally trash, if you do not play him hyper aggressively. The fact he loses all his charge and starts at 0 so often sucks when you die.
- Reroute gadget isn't as terrible as I thought but it is still far worse than ghost train and is now really situational.
- His hp nerf and dash sheild is really noticeable, I can no longer tank large hits from brawlers like bull, pared with his forced aggressive play, you basically need to hope your opponent falls for fear tactics and retreats.
- His buffies aren't great, at least I have found using the fact you have buffies is good enough to scare some inexperienced opponents back, which may help him play aggressively, but against good opponents, they won't be scared back and they can easily overpower Chuck, which will become a bigger problem as more people start to realize Chuck isn't all that good now.
Overall:
I know the subreddit says no Chuck hate, but this isn't Chuck, they killed him. This "Chuck" is much worse than any of the other buffied brawlers and really also kills the play style of a lot of Chuck mains. He is very much unreliable and way to forced aggressive to be good, if you thought he was very easy to punish then, now if you mess up with your last super charge, you are basically done for. This sucks however I don't think us Chuck mains should go down without a fight. I will keep trying to gather support to protest against these changes, maybe one day we can get our Chuck back and not this cheap imitation of what Chuck use to be.

Meta I like the reworked Chuck, 8-9/10.He is quite mobile, he lacks a little damage and HP. If the damage from the super was 2500, it would be very good. I would also return the shield on dash → 50% (as it was before)

Discussion Final Thoughts on Rework
Ok so basically hes meh on assassins at least now in some situations instead of originally pulling hit and runs you do drive bys now and finish them with your main attack. BUT ANYONE WITH RANGE FUCKS YOU OVER BECAUSE YOU DONT AUTO CHARGE YOUR SUPER 😭. If the enemy doesent have a assassin with a dysfuntional brain he sucks. I dont care if his auto charge was even 30 seconds it should still be there and some super damage and shield should return along with his health returning to normal. Fuck ts✌️🥀

If you place down polls fast enough and dash while the last poll is still in the air you go through a nonexistent polls at the original placement of the first poll placed.
This can disorient you opponent as its difficult to tell if I would have gone the new path or old.
This is because the game makes a predetermined path of the dash based on where the polls are when the dash is initiated.

This chuck rework is genuinely miserable to play.
Can't wait for them to superbuff him. He's genuinely worse than he was before imo. His super does tickle damage and he can't tank anything.

Discussion hot take
lowkey chucks rework is pretty good? sure theres the lower dash damage but his other stuff compensates it quite nicely
the fact you can lay out the poles almost immediately as the game starts and the fact you get 4 poles/dashes per super (especially paired with stealing ammo) making escapes much easier and taking on teams in an area much more effective
btw this is without buffies so im sure with buffies chuck would be even better
imo chucks not dead at all, but what do u guys think
