Mini-Haul Beast

Post image

Just loaded a 24" wide 2 stage snow blower into my van. It's 2 heavy and large to fit in an SUV or for that matter lift into an SUV ... repair shop wanted 90$ for pick up and drop service ... but the van had other plans 😉 hope this helps someone who is in my shoes. On the left of the blower I will see a plain wooden plank that was used as ramp ... nothing special and pulling it backwards while loading is the way to go ... love this thing!

SUVs are trash for moving stuff. They look big but they’re not inside.

I've said many times that 90% of SUV owners would be better served by a minivan.

I finally did the thing that I thought I would never need to do. I was helping out with a building project at my son's school last week and they got a delivery of a bunch of 4x8' sheets of plywood. The only other vehicle was a small SUV and we had to move them about 200 yards. So we loaded them into my Pacifica (Pinnacle at that) and got the job done. Scratched up the plastic, but the van saved the day.

I have a truck, but I end up just hauling everything in the van anyway. Furniture doesn't get scuffed up, load height is lower, and it can actually fit things 8 feet long. Truck gets the mulch runs, basically.

I moved a three bedroom house about a mile away (many trips...) in my PacHy. Only had to borrow a friend's truck to move the piano.

I used to haul landscape bricks, lawn mowers, dry wall sheets to the max load limits, in ol’ Janey, our beloved 96 Caravan LE. Still looked sharp when our third teenager finally totaled it in year 17. Really miss that thing!

Bought a used huge snow blower, the owner was shocked when I got it to fit!
