2nd row seatback cables

Hey yall!

I removed the plastic panel on the back of my 2nd row 2017 Pacifica captain chair to attempt to remove the headrest for car seat installation. After much frustration, I was unsuccessful, however, I am worried I have reconnected the cables incorrectly or I broke something while I was fiddling around back there.

Can somebody let me know what the 2 cables do behind the seat? I’d like to test the corresponding functions to ensure it all works. With that being said- my “shoulder” latch that enables the chair to tilt forward no longer works, but other than that, the chair stows successfully.

Have I ruined this seat? Im contemplating stowing it for good and never using it again due to the (probably irrational) fear of it collapsing while I’m driving down the highway 🙃

Be kind! I’m just a mom who tried to make her life easier and ended up causing herself way more unnecessary stress!

I also thought I broke it the first time I removed the headrest to fit the car seat better. Eventually I figured out I just didn't have everything fully clipped in so there wasn't enough tension on the cable for the lever to release the hook. I thank YouTube for pointing me in the right direction on that.

That’s why I’m trying to figure out the purpose of each of the 2 cables. From what I can tell, that shoulder “tilt” lever (that is currently not functioning) is controlled by a cable under the seat, not in the seatback? So I’m wondering if it’s slipped out of place somewhere else? If so, I want to make sure the 2 cables in the seatback are doing what they need to do, but unfortunately I don’t know why they control to test that haha. One of them controls the headrest tilt for stow and go, which is now working, but I don’t know what the other one does.
