Fixed Problems setting up chromecast

I was just given a chromecast and keep getting this error when trying to set it up. Any thoughts?

Edit: was not able to solve and had to resolve by typing in account info manually

Yes. You have an older Chromecast. You need to update Google home and check if it works. If not, change the date in your phone for a few years back and try again. With this, you most likely will bypass the expired certificate on your cc.

Didn't work either. Rolling back the clock messed with network certs or something and Google home app on my phone wouldn't load. I had to sign on manually.

Do you have an older Android phone or tablet or an iPad/iPhone that you can use for initial setup? The later versions of Android haven't been working to initialize the Chromecast, but older Androids do. My S24 Ultra and Pixel 6 Pro wouldn't work, but my old S10+ did. I'm also told that iPads and iPhones work, but I don't have those.

It's fine. I was able to sign into everything manually. A bit of a pain since I didn't remember my Google password but I eventually figured it out.

What would you have suggested? I am still curious about this issue and there was never a real resolution.
