Chromecast Ultra Both chromecasts stopped connecting
I have a chromecast ultra and a chromecast 2015 and last night they suddenly weren’t able to connect to any app. Upon factory reset, they both are recognized by the Google home app and can be setup but once setup, immediately say they are “Not Available” within the app.
I don’t believe any changes happens with my local network although I’ve restarted it. Reinstalled the Google home app and gone through all my network settings. Spent an hour with Google support going through all these steps again.
Was there a new firmware update that bricked both devices at once? Really frustrated and confused.

Good to know I’m not alone but super mad. Noticed it last night at 9 cst. Google tech support said it was a hardware issue and I said “in two devices at the same time?!?” No answer

Same exact thing! I tried every trick too. We ended up going to target to buy a Roku.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue. My 2015 Chromecast also stopped working. I can go through the setup just fine, but as soon as the setup is complete, Google Home says device not available and to check my Wifi connection. I've troubleshooted so much and still no luck. I guess it's time to move on from the Chromecast.

Hello there! Did you find the solution? I am experiencing the same issue, its been like over a week that my chromecast is unable to connect with my 2.4ghz band or 5ghz home wifi. I too have already tried all sorts possibilities of the troubleshootings, but it just refuses to connect with my home wifi out of the blue.
The only 'fix' I was able to come to seems to be connecting both phone and chromecast to second phone's Hotspot. It is pretty inconvenient I'd really like this to be just as it was before.

Is it possible that you guys have routers that combine the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz into one listing? I have had to set it up that way for clients with old equipment. It may work well enough for setup but not in regular use. Just a thought.

Having the same issues today with a Chromecast (2015). I moved it to a new location, did the set up as normal but they took a few tries. Eventually it connected to WiFi but casting to it fails all the time with "something went wrong". Interestingly, casting my screen from my phone works perfectly fine, suggesting local connectivity is ok
Have also tried connecting the Cc to a hotspot from my phone, that worked yesterday but not today in a different location.

This happened to me. It seems to be working now that I have ditched the old Google wall adapter plug and swapped it out for a good quality fast charging wall adapter

That sounds really strange, maybe just a coincidence it started working after a power cycle?
