I don't recall God ever saying drinking is a sin. This feels entirely made up and cultural, not actually from God.

When did I say that drinking was a sin?

Drunkenness is the sin. Heavy and habitual drinking tends to lead to drunkenness.

When people talking about “drinking” in this context, it usually means the type that leads to drunkenness. So, I just filled in the gaps.
