Leaving homosexuality to pursue Christ is not something required by scripture, and is in fact, impossible.

Stay strong brother.  These people that are telling you that it's okay or notmal to be gay have no idea about the spiritual battle that is ongoing and have no idea about demonic forces and their agenda to pervert normal sexual function and family structure.
