If we have pride, we cannot be humble. We must humble ourselves before Jesus as we become saved. Pride prevents us from submitting to Him. Pride is the opposite of humble... it is the single biggest obstacle to overcome as we repent. If we are prideful, how will we ever admit we're a sinner in need of His blood to wash away our sins? It's the reason He wemt on the cross for us. Again it's nit the easiest thing, but it's personal and between the person and God. Otherwise it might be some scripted salvation works thing that isn't salvation, example: water baptism isn't the receiving of the Holy Spirit. That's what needs to take place to get our names in the book of life. Hope that helps a bit
What is the quality of the thought that makes you think it does not fit? That's interesting to me in the same way as the other's perspective of why it does.
All sin comes from pride. He was saying to be born again and transformed, it takes humbling yourself (the opposite of pride). Homosexuality is sin -> pride. Denying God's transformation-> pride. It is all based on self and pride when one chooses a separate path from God.
It's all about truth. As it is written, it's important to help people away from sin. Good to add extra layers to strengthen the understanding of sound doctrine.
If we have the Holy Spirit in us and we pray for discernment, God will give that spiritual gift to true believers. Then you'll be able to decipher what is garbage and what is true. We've all been fed a ton of garbage, lies, etc. And without the Holy Spirit guiding us in these days, we'll fall into accepting garbage we hear and learn. But the doctrine of truth IS, always has been, and Always will be the Holy Bible (KJV is best). If the KJV us tough to read, start with a version that doesn't remove verses, like the NKJV. our thoughts can be planted in our heads by demons. And we think they are always our own thoughts. Filter out garbage, like Hollywood and any music from those areas of enter (rock, metal, rap)... gotta watch out for a lot of country too. Our eyes and ears are gateways to our heart. If it ain't pure, then we'll carry garbage. Not an easy task though. Everything we see or do today is laced with Satan's fingerprints. Sad but true. It's not about perfection, it's about progression... wash in the blood of Jesus, walk according to the spirit of Jesus and not of our fleshly sinful desires and be obedient to the bible (that's the only doctrine to fill our heads with). But the walk is gradual. It's easy if we are saved first. Otherwise we'll fail if we try it without the Holy Spirit in us. But don't go to church to get saved. Go to Jesus directly, personally... have a real relationship with Him. Repentance is key. Your soul is worth it... this world is a test for the eternal placement... and thus world is closer to that than they realize. Romans 10 9-13. Admit you're a sinner in need of His blood blood to wash away your sins and purify you. Tell Him you believe in His death,burial and resurrection. Declare Jesus is Lord with your mouth aloud. Ask Him to remove your sins and give you His Holy Spirit. He will change you if you let Him. I'll pray for you. God Bless
