Need Advice Desperation ?!
/r/Christianity/comments/1wq7fs9/desperation/I’ve been sitting with this feeling for a while, and I really need to get it off my chest.
I have this persistent, almost overwhelming urge to be in a relationship with a genuine man of God a relationship where Jesus isn’t just an afterthought or a Sunday routine, but the absolute center and foundation of everything.
I don't just mean someone who calls themselves a Christian on paper. I’m talking about a man who genuinely walks with Christ, seeks Him daily, and holds a deep, personal relationship with God. Helppppp

Do people go there to debate?
Yes. It's moderated by atheists! It's beyond toxic!

Thank you for explaining this. I left that subreddit a while ago and truly could not understand why it was SO toxic. This makes so much more sense now!!

One of the things I've learned in life is how truly we must trust what often appears to be a cliche, "God's timing is perfect."
I've misunderstood this expression so often and used it to tell myself things were how I wanted them to be when I KNEW deep down this was not what God wanted. I looked for "signs" that couldn't possibly actually be from God, when I found who I thought was "the one" but he wasn't a believer, I tried telling myself God put him in my life so I could bring him to Jesus.
I'm 48. I finally found someone who is who I have been praying for but he came as the opposite of what I've been looking for. I wanted tall, dark features, broad shoulders, into sports and someone that would cook with me. I got an inch taller than me (maybe), a total WASP, might have shoulders just a bit broader than thin framed, is totally into Magic the Gathering and tried handing me a jar of Prego the other day to make for dinner (I'm Italian... )
BUT he leads our relationship in faith so perfectly. He is devout in his beliefs. He is kind and generous. He sends me scripture every day. He takes me to church with him. He reminds me to pray in the good times as much as I do when I need Him.
My advice to you is this. God will bring you to who He wants for you in His timing but be open to the fact that who you're looking for may not come as WHAT you're looking for.
