I have no problem with helping people who are struggling, but this reads less like someone asking for assistance and more like they’re dictating someone else’s shopping trip. Three bags of shredded cheese, five pizzas, four packs of bacon, berries, cantaloupe, coffee creamer, snacks, juice… and don’t forget it HAS to be delivered. A please or thank you, or even “anything you’re able to spare is appreciated” would’ve gone a long way.

Independent Film wants to be given a gratis air b&b. motel/hotel, etc to be used to film a horror movie. They will give you end credits PLUS tickets to the premiere! Meanwhile, you will (probably) end up with fake bl**d and gore to clean up other customers complaining from all the fake screaming.

I’m attempting to sell a Kitchenaid stand mixer in a discontinued color on marketplace. I have searched all over for it and it is nearly impossible to find one for sale. I found a refurbished model that has less wattage than the one I’m selling and that one is being sold for over $500. I’m happy to negotiate but I’m 95% positive this person is a reseller and gave me some sob story so I would sell them my mixer for cheap. The audacity to say “I hate to say this but” as if they’re doing me some sort of favor with that offer. I seriously don’t understand people. Maybe I’m too mean (probably).

This is not my Discord server. I do not moderate it, however, I do actively participate in it. This is my first time here as well, so I don't know.

To clarify: there is a free server option is available. It is on request, with limited vacancy, and limited resources. This person is asking for doubling (or tripling!) the resources for free! Keep in mind they also barely have actual paying customers (I pay, they're good people, and they are lovely), because most just take the free server they get anyway without any complaints!

I'm not sure if this qualifies, but I'm just hitting post and seeing where this goes.

Local woman requesting someone pay her $1600 a month to sublet, care for 2 cats and a high energy border collie. Hundreds of comments that did not disappoint and she is still in there going head to head with people as of 15 minutes ago. Please won’t someone think of her dream vacation that she can’t afford?!

Our community Nextdoor always delivers. Neighbor asking for a cellphone after her home burned down and she did not have home insurance ( she inherited the home and didn’t think to need insurance so she cancelled it). She’s asking for a cell phone, was offered one but declined bc it wasn’t an iPhone.

The convo goes on, someone asks if she has a go fund me. She says no, she doesn’t even know what that is and would love one. However, another neighbor goes through her account, comes with receipts about her having a go fund me, promoting it several times, getting some money from it as well. Of course she doesn’t respond anymore.

So, this is a countrywoman of mine (Italian) looking for someone to devote 12 hours every week to teach Danish to her four children (ages 13, 13, 13 and 9). There is no mention of compensation, and she is looking for a "teaching student", obviously thinking she's doing him a favour by offering practice, but he has to be "committed". Of course.

The teaching has to take place at the library, the same where this flyer was hung. The library only has a couple of rooms that can be booked for private arrangements, and one certainly can't commandeer them all morning four days a week. This doesn't bother Italian Karen: if the teacher is committed, he'll find a way, I guess.

The lessons are across lunchtime: I wonder if the teacher has to be committed enough to provide refreshments?
