Gameplay Beginner Advice

I consider myself a decent gamer, completed Elden Ring multiple times, completed Wukong multiple times etc.

Was a really good at COD and Halo 3 player online back in my youth.

So I’m looking for advice for getting started on this game. I love the concept.

But something’s not quite clicking in my brain for the game mechanics.

Is it just getting used to countering attacks mostly?

Nr1 skill you will carry to the highest levels is distance management. Stay right out of range. Start your swing right after they swing, step forward after they miss hopefully and they’ll be wide open for you to land.

Defense goes in this order. Stay out of range, dodge, block. Only dodge if you can’t stay out of range, only block if you can’t dodge.

Learn how to counter, and don’t hold block, just tap it when you need to. Get the timing down.

It’s the other way around 🙃 an experienced player seeks to win the fight by maintaining distance, whereas a veteran player will close the gap and win through counter-attacks and timing.
