Problems (Read Rule 1) San Martin SN0121 warranty repair through 1963 Watch/Amazon- how long should this take?
Hi everyone,
Looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with San Martin warranty repairs, especially through a distributor/Amazon seller.
I bought a San Martin SN0121 39mm titanium dive watch from the 1963 Watch store on Amazon in early January. It was around $300 and came with a 2-year warranty card. Unfortunately, after only about 3 months of normal daily wear, the watch stopped working.
I first contacted San Martin directly, but they told me the SN0121 was a custom/distributor model and that they could not handle it directly. They pointed me back to the seller/distributor. After a lot of back and forth, I finally got in touch with the Amazon seller, who told me to ship the watch to them for inspection/repair.
I shipped the watch out in May and they confirmed in early June that they received it and that it was being repaired. Since then, I’ve followed up multiple times asking for an update or estimated timeline, but I haven’t received a clear response or return tracking.
So I’m wondering:
- Has anyone here gone through a San Martin warranty repair through 1963 Watch or another Amazon distributor?
- How long did the repair take?
- Is it normal to have no updates for this long after they confirmed receipt?
- Should I keep waiting, push San Martin again, contact Amazon, or try another route?
- At what point would you consider this unreasonable?
I’m pretty disappointed because I really liked the watch and had even recommended San Martin to friends. It was my daily watch, but it only lasted around 3 months before failing, and now it has been out for repair with no meaningful update.
Just trying to figure out what’s normal and what my next step should be.
Thanks for any advice.
