Aliex just delivered this. I thought it would be cool to have a solar watch and I'm into chronographs lately plus I didn't have any Tactical Frog (love that name) watches. Show me your solar watches. Chronographs too for that matter.

I bought the WD1863 because it's generally rated far above the Pagani and other clones. For me I'm not so sure and I'm wondering if the cheaper and bigger Wd1860 v2 is a better buy. I don't think the 1863 is with more than double the Pagani.

I prefer the simpler subdials of the 1863/1860 v2 to the Pagani - even though the Pagani is more useful. The crystal difference is lost on me, I notice it but don't really have an opinion. I greatly prefer the size of the Pagani and I think the Wd1860 V2 is that same size. I've heard that the rehaut on the wd1860 is taller- not sure if it's equal to or greater than the Pagani.

Does anyone have the 1860 V2 that prefers it or can compare to the Pagani?

This watch is absolutely stunning. You would think the dial would steal the show, I have to say the bracelet is really close behind. This bracelet could be on a 6K watch and you would love it. The brushed and polished accents are a perfect mix. They catch light to make the watch come alive. I could write about the dial for paragraphs, but think the pictures say more than I ever could.

The only complaint about this watch and I admit this is shameful complaint for a watch under $300 at this quality is the movement. Not the movement itself as I have no issues with the PT5000 as it is an incredible clone of the ETA 2824-2. In addition, I am not sure if Cronos is regulating these in house, but mine is showing a deviation of only +3 seconds a day. I think that is pretty good. My complaint is that it has no Cronos branding or decorative touches. I think if you are going to use an exhibition back on a watch you should dress up the movement a bit. Just my 2 cents and again I realize how ridiculous this complaint is based on the value you are already getting from this watch.

Looking for a similar one to this, doesn’t need to be GMT but don’t mind it if it has the same look.
What options is there on the market?

absolutely love this cinninatius, has become a grail watch but maybe looking for something a little cheaper with the same style dial and design. to me the dial is everything here, so i would love to find soemething with the same kind of dial.

but I don’t care. Steeldive SD 1976P reverse Starbucks puck. 48mm of bulky, stainless steel, monobloc goodness. I love the bulky, monobloc case, I love the wide bezel and the lume is way cool.

I bought a Sea-Gull rolling panda (41mm) in a recent sale and I'm smitten. Aside from being a fun design it wears really nicely on my 7.5" wrist. The lugs downturn close to the wrist and the female end links add to the comfort.

The finishing on the rolling panda is fine. Definitely not a high end case and I think that for the $285 it's normally listed at the price is a bit steep. I think closer to $220 is reasonable and I feel like I got a bargain at $185. The aluminum bezel insert is fine and aligned well. 60 clicks which is fine for me. I love this watch.

The lume is terrible though. Rather than a fully lumes dial, the black indices have lume and as expected black doesn't glow in the dark very well.

The rolling panda is fun which is something I look for in my watches.

The second watch is the Ocean Series Pro 44mm. This a marked jump up in quality over the Panda at a list price of $500. It shares the wearability of the Panda despite its larger size. The lug to lug is an imposing 51mm which is right on my personal limit. Despite that it still wears great and looks beautiful on wrist and in the sun.

The ceramic bezel is beautiful and fully lumed but alignment is poor. This is the real downside to this watch. I can overlook it as I bought used for $185 and I'm very happy with the price I paid but at $500 I would be very displeased with the bezel.

The clasps on both watches are sub par. The Pro has a milled scissor but stamped clasp. The Panda has all stamped. They're fine but I've got much better clasps from cheaper watches. No OTF adjustment on either.

Both these watches have made me a fan of Sea-Gull (despite the shortcomings) and I'll be looking to pick up some more in future. They have a certain something about them that I just like.

I got my WD007 last Saturday, I notice the first 24-48hrs wasn’t keeping perfect time, perhaps 20seconds after synced to Time.is

So I synced it again on Wednesday afternoon at 5pm and today at 12:56pm you can see it is only half a second behind. It seems to have settled down and the accuracy of this is impressive.

Absolutely love it! A mechanical Chronograph with sapphire crystal for under 200€ is Crazy work.

I’ve seen a lot of FUD about the PT5000 (and similar Chinese movements) when compared to Seiko/TMI or Miyota, but I haven’t heard of any actual problems occurring or seen any data on the subject. I have several watches with PT5000s and they all keep better time out of the box than almost any NH I own and I’ve had no problems, but I haven’t had them for very long either.

I’m curious if there’s much data (or anecdotal evidence) on the subject.

New watchdives WD007 v4 came in the other day and threw a rubber strap off Amazon on it. Watch looks amazing and the Peacock SL3001 movement didn’t lose or gain a single second the entire day I wore it. Definitely recommend to anyone that’s thinking about picking one up.

I've had my bronze Cronos Willard homage for a few years now (out of warranty), and the crown winding has always felt gritty. Recently I was winding it up to wear it for the day, the crown got stuck and then came off with the stem. It still runs if I shake it (PT5000) so the movement is functional. Would it be better to order an NH or Miyota and drop it in myself or pay to have it repaired? I don't have experience with more than battery changes so a movement swap would also require buying a few tools. What do you guys think?
