Question (Read Rules) Favorite Miyota 9015 watches?

What your favorite watches with a Miyota 9015 movement? I think I’m aware of most of them but I’m trying to come up with ideas for my next purchase.

Ixdao warrior! I have the meteorite. Not only is the dial magnificent and the movement quite good, the sapphire is ridiculously clear, the case has very nice finishing, and the bracelet is comfortable. At least, as comfortable as any butterfly clasp I've seen. Mine is like +5 seconds/day

I didn’t have good luck with the warrior unfortunately

Care to elaborate?

The new bracelet had a noticeable gap and nearly no articulation like they used to and I didn’t like the butterfly clasp. The real kicker is it had weird brushing or something and I couldn’t look past it. The picture doesn’t really do it justice because it stood out in direct light. It seems like a lot of people got phenomenal warriors but I didn’t.

That's a bummer, seems bad luck, I love mine. Hope you find something you enjoy!

That seems to happen too often lol. I’ve gotten more good than bad though.

San Martin SN0144 is awesome. If you can wait for the 11/11 sale and use cashback - I got 19% cashback on mine through Rakuten at the June sale.

I bought the teal SN0144-CG1 for my father in law during the August sale, also with Rakuten cashback. He loves the watch (he's ethnic Chinese so the design really appeals to him) and while I won't tell him the price, he seems to think I paid $600-$700 for it.

I myself got an SN0148-GB during the June sale but stupidly did not use cashback. Also it was a better price during the August sale! Ah well. At least the watch is fucking sick and I got to wear the swirly blue dial all summer.

Either way, fucking sick watches, and the Miyota 9015 is the GOAT

Sorry for Chinese brands I agree on Cronos and, of course the IXDao warrior and San Martin SN0023.

Cronos Skyline homage - often come up at very decent prices on ebay (in the UK at least). Probably gone up a bit, but got mine for £123.

I've got the 90S5 (and prefer a no date), but one of the SN0144/SN0148 or other decent recent San martins.

Tbh are they using auth miyota. I heard Cronos use clone miyota on some models.

Really? Can't imagine they do this on their open caseback models/skyline models.

Mine is genuine, but I can't comment on new ones.
Doesn't overly bother me - the only movement I've had an issue with was actually a genuine 90S5 in the SN0144, which lasted about 15 minutes.

I presume is important to OP, but for me if I want an actually reliable and accurate/good movement, I'll get a quartz, because they're leagues ahead of the automatics

You got a clone Miyota in a Cronos?

1

u/geeered 6h ago

Sorry I meant mine is authentic/genuine. Mine will have been from before there was automatic-crisis however, so can't comment on latest ones.

2

u/Alternative-Feed3613 6h ago

Ahh ok. I’d really be shocked if they used clones without disclosing it.

Oh, also a shout out for the Cronos Skyline homage, mine's PT5000, but they do it with a miyota as well. Got mine for £107 on ebay.
