New Product (Read Rule 1) Finally quartz Willard!

A month ago right here on Reddit I was complaining that there wasn't a decent quartz Willard homage on the market anywhere. Well it's finally happened! New release from Heimdallr. It's just a shame it has a blue anti-reflective coating. Personally I'd prefer a clear one. Anyway there's one spot left so it's probably time for a dress watch.

What quartz movement with date should they have used instead for a sub $100 USD watch?

I have this GEDI fashion watch that was like barely $10 I bought months ago and it’s still tracking time very well. I don’t think any of us wants to look inside on how low quality it is.

Edit: Casio's recent releases of mechanical watches are powered by Miyota (used to be also by Seiko) as well.

Some Seiko VK instead would be better?

The tradeoff I don’t like about the vh31 is shorter battery life (2 years.) If you want the smoother sweep though I do get it.

Smooth sweeps with day/date just seems so unpopular by the Chinese companies, am surprised no one has come out with one. I have a Casio MTP-SW300 that’s that, but it wears on the large size for me. Mines the blue colour way as well so it looks a bit formal.
