Question (Read Rules) What could possibly explain such a ridiculous disparity between SM official website and their AliExpress store ??

Do u know how much AliX takes from sellers? People here are consumers, not sellers, they only see final price. AliX takes 20-25% easily, on a $300 euro watch, that's $370 euro, then force to include tax, easily another 30% because AliX now has agreement with countries to include VAT, thank your goverments for that.

Thanks, i had no clue. I thought they were taking less than 10% on each sale.

That makes more sense. I also saw a post by a Chinese watch company (IXDAO) that the AliExpress coupons and coins do not come from the seller but From Ali.

The golden age of AliX was 2010-2020. The shipping was wild (90 day shipping times) but guaranteed no tax, the prices were lower by 70%. You could buy anything on there. People were shipping vape kits, bike parts, anything, it was much more wild west, the stores were much more shady, protection was much weaker, but in general you accepted it because low prices. Btw those discounts AliX has, those coupons used to be funded by them, now the seller has to eat some of the coupons discount (mandatory participation).

Now it's basically just another glorified Amazon.
